This appears to be a group of Imagepoint people hooked up with some Austrialian company. Wondering if they are legitimate.

This wouldn't happen to be the group that is now with Principle would it? If so, I would stay away from them.. very very far away.

Or, is that the name of the company they are going by? Do you have any conatct names there and I can probably tell you something about who they are.

Why stay away from Principle? We just did our first service call for them...

Who's got the GM account now? We have a dealership that needs to be debranded and don't know who to contact anymore.

Well, to each is there own, and everyone has their own opinions. I won't go into enough detail that would cause me to start badmouthing individuals... at least not in this forum, publicly.

But here is my thing with them.

1. I personally know/ have worked with almost all of them so i am not just someone who worked on projects and spoke to them on the phone. As people, and individuals most are decent enough. Notice I said most. 2. Most of them were upper level management folks from IP. Who do you think ran that company in the ground? While a lot of the blame on that should be placed on Martin, these upper level mangement folks should share the brunt of that responsibility. I am not sold on the fact that collectively together they have enough apptitude to actually manage a project.. Too many queens in that hive with NO real worker bees to carry them like they had at IP.. ( OK, so they did hire a few..)

My biggest reason right now however is the fact that these guys are backed by a foreign company.. Profits are going overseas. not uncommon, but think of this scenario for a second.

Banks are struggling.. Government gives banks billions of dollars. Economy is suffereing, and businesses are hurting. IP was in a cash crunch. After Wells/ Wachovia gets their bazillion dollars in govt. assistance decided to start cleaning up their portfolios.. They called in IP's loan, which ultimately caused them to fold. I'm not taking up for IP. I saw the writing on the wall long before I left there that they were in trouble.. My issue is with a bank who got govt money to help ailing businesses, yet shut down a staple in an industry to make their books look better.. THEN, the same bank turn around and give a bunch of work ( I'm sure spending the govt money) to a company that is backed by a foreign company, having the profits head outside the US.

And to think I served my country so these idiots have the freedom to do such things.

As I said in the beginning, to each is their own.. I simply do not trust these guys as far as I could drop kick them. That's my .02 worth.

Now that's a new one, I like that line!

I'm a small guy so, to give them the benefit of the doubt, I said kick em rather than throw em.. Some of them have been getting fat in areas other than their checkbooks, and so I'm afraid I couldn't budge them by throwing them. Ha.

Sign managers has been running ads in the trade mags, (can't remember which one and too lazy to look) for some time looking for someone to partner with in the US. Guess they found em.

Guess they held out for the RIGHT people.

there are a lot of ex-Imagepoint employees on this board who can tell you who they are.

In Knoxville ImagePoint people went to Principle (UK company), Pattison USA (at least this month until they close), Blair Companies, and Transworld Signs (Montreal) aka VISUAL PRODUCTS GROUP

Principle is a reputable company in Europe but just not sure they can do much business here in the USA - complete different mindset.

And I agree - keep the business in the USA as much as possible...hell I am bit overboard on this concept...if we offer a fixture in South Africa it is made by South African company, New Zealand - made by Kiwi company, and USA - made by some great companies on this board.

Keep it local - not bad to be proud to be the nationality you are...the French and the Japanese dont own the right to be the world's leaders in being proud of their country!!

Is Pattison closing their business here? I know quite a few people that works there and would hate it for them?

I had lunch at ISA with a lady who was running part of the North American business - she was with two senior ex-ImagePoint people who were with Pattison in Knoxville.

I asked her if they were going to have their jobs for long as Pattison always closes USA operations - she emphatically said "No we will not close anymore USA facilities".

Funny how things work - 1.5 weeks after they closed her Connecticut business....pretty funny and sad.

I like the people at Pattison in Knoxville - good group. Hopefully they are successful and stay where they are.

Hi All,

Just thought I'd clarify a few things about Signmanager ... :)

Signmanager is an Australian-born company that recently expanded into the US, with two offices in Seattle and Knoxville respectively. We specialize in signage project management and assist multinational corporations with brand rollout, rebranding and signage maintenance services. To do so, we rely on, and work closely with our network of professional vendors (we source vendors locally where the work is done). We manage the entire process via our proprietary web based management system.

Even though Signmanager is headquartered in Australia, we are not about taking profits overseas. We currently employ two US based project managers, and as our company grows, we hope to further increase our staffing and continue to develop and invest in Signmanager Inc.

Looking forward to working with you all in the near future.

Thanks for your reply.

Our business models are completely different. Signmanager are specialist project managers that are independent from any sign manufacturing organization. Albert Smith Group are product manufacturers.

As you would already know, the Albert Smith Group is one of the largest sign manufacturing companies in Australia if not the southern Hemisphere, who manufacture quality signage product. We have a great working relationship with the ASG group as well as other sign manufacturing companies of varying sizes as we rely on these vendors for the completion of all signage works (site audits, manufacture, installation, etc).

However, we do not manufacture or install the product; we rely on our reputable vendor network for all signage work. Our project managers who have an average of 15 years specific industry knowledge detail the specifications and go to local qualified sign manufacturers to procure the require signage at the current market value. The client then selects the preferred signage vendor via our online system, and we manage all aspects of the project on the client’s behalf. In other words, via our web based system and network of vendors, we project manage corporate signage programs such as rebranding, national rollouts and maintenance
