I have not read the municpalities code yet but I heard they don't allow illuminated pylons or monuments? Anyone do any jobs there recently?

That's not surprising.

I have not been there in over 8 years or so but Monterey & Carmel CA are for the most part touristy sleepy fishing towns off the scenic route highway 1. If you do a google map standing view in their downtowns you will see that they are mostly wall paints, awnings, blade, and wooden cedar sandblasted signs.

The only thing you might see lit up are neon and LED open signs.

I thought it wasn't worth looking up the code. If that's what it was 8 or so years ago it's likely very similar to or with tighter restrictions. Also, it tends to be true for nearly anywhere.... looking around at the signs others establishments have on the same road tend to reveal what is and is not allowed.

Thanks Erik.

Thanks Goat! I didn't even know about codepublishing.com and it will be a nice addition to my code research staple municode..... amongst a nice list of municipal contacts and websites.
