  1. 1. As a Sign Company will you join the new program?

  2. 2. As a Component Manufacturer will you apply for the new marking?

  3. 3. How does the new UL Environment come off to you

    • Valuble and needed
    • Another way to profit farm
    • I just don't know

As a sign company or component manufacturer who produces LEDs. Are you willing to take on U.L. as an additional silent partner by joining their additional programs to obtain a "U.L. Environmental" mark? In states like (New York workers comp insurance is already a partner for all sign companies who have employees) For states like California who have the insane "Title 24" compliance?

Taking a look at lighting requirements , even if you build a sign cabinet right you can even get away with using a fluorescent magnetic ballast to qualify in title 24 compliance.

LED manufacturers, it's pretty obvious on the efficiency of LED's will you take a new partner who wants you to, "Pay, to prove" your product is energy efficient? By buying a mark for your products adding additional cost.

Boy, it's getting expensive out there to be Green :smilie_xmas_156: now comes someone who wants you to pay, to prove it! The costs of doing business these days.

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life. - Winston Churchill

In my opinion the UL listing, even though we are a UL company, has become more about job security and less about safety. In other words, the more they can dig their fingers in to every aspect of your industry, the more "needed" they will seem.
