Hey guys diesel here up to 3.75! What is it in your neck of the woods? If it hits 5 bucks again I see the economy taking a real plunge.

Diesel here is 3.49 today, gas 3.19. Got a feeling things are going to take a turn for the worse (as if its not bad enough already) this year. I here some saying that we should have gas prices 3.50-3.75 by summer time !!!

Today in Lexington, KY, gas - 3.39, deisel - 3.60's. Cost me $80.00 to fill up my Ford F-150 last night.

307 yesterday morning, by afternoon 317, this morning 312.

When it gets real bad I'm going to start doing what I did a few years ago. Pay in change.

We have raised the rates on our trucks - may have to again if this madness continues. We did fuel surcharges last time all of this started, and we didn't collect many of them. Everybody, especially these National Companies, refuse to pay fuel surcharges. It always mystifies me how people can REFUSE to pay what you bill them, but in order to prevent losing money, we just raised our rates (first time in YEARS we have even raised our rates - should have long ago). I can't continue to put $150 in fuel in a crane truck and not get it back. I see it only getting worse as summer draws near - if we all get on the same page, it will make it easier for all of us. That's why I like discussions like this on SS - any other suggestions are welcome. What are you guys charging for a 42' bucket truck with 2 men? 120' crane truck with 2 men?

Current price in Southwestern Ontario is $ 4.73 per US gallon for Diesel and $ 4.84 per US gallon for Gas.

I briefly looked into it the last time fuel shot up and found our industry can't charge fuel surcharges, that's for motor freight carriers only. We just jack up our hourly rates.

That is Canadian which today is at par or very close to par with the US dollar.

It has been in that range for awhile but it is the high end on the range. A year ago it was around $ 3.75.
