$4.09 here today

I worked on a small oil company remodel last week. At the beginning of the week,Monday, the Regular Unleaded was $3.91 per gallon. By Wednesday of that same week the prices were as the picture indicated as I was leaving the jobsite. Some other trades were still working through the end of the week so I don't know what the prices ultimately ended up as. But I do know that I looked through the station "Cheat Sheet" that is sent out by the corporate office and increases were in order for at least the rest of the week.

This particular city is listed as a BAP city so I can only assume the Regular Unleaded is somewhere near $4.40 per gallon. The rest of the prices would rise by an equal percentage.

Over this last weekend I was in Del Mar California and the prices were in the $4.39 to $4.45 range for Regular Unleaded. I didn't look at the daily "Cheat Sheet" for the station I worked at, but I can only assume prices are going to rise as Del Mar is also listed as a BAP city.

Best of luck dealing with rising prices..................

In France, meadows of Paris the gallon of diesel oil is 7.22 USD and it rises...

Courage then

But isn't it true that the reason that gasoline or deiesel is so high in Europe is because the taxes on fuel are very high ? And doesn't those taxes fund mass transit, free education and health care for all citizens ?

I'll pay $7.22 gladly if I no longer need to fund health care, can ride the train for almost no cost or send my kids to college for free.

I am definitely not an expert on Europe but am I correct ??

For the record, in Iraq I believe gasoline is about 20 cents per gallon. I don't live in Canada, Europe or the middle east so I only worry about me getting screwed in California........

$4.00 per gal . Billings Montana we have 3 refinerys in our town .

In my area, even as the world price of crude has dropped 8% and the Euro has dropped below 1.30 and USA demand is at 10 year lows and USA supply is at 20 year highs........ gas/diesel prices are as if fundamentals were much higher or rising.

Oh, I forgot, it's because of "Inelastic Demand" and that pesky "Sticky Down" price scheme that is given by the major oils. But you also will be hearing about refinery maintenance issues or the "Refinery Turnaround" that those of us who have had the privelige of working on are familiar with.

Fuel in Aus is over $US6 a gallon, $US7 for premium.

Our health scheme is paid for by an income tax levy.

Sure, we have "free" health care if you're willing to wait 6,12 months or more to see a free specialist if it's not life threatening.

Full service health care still requires expensive insurance and/or deep pockets.

To see a dermatologist recently, my wife had to, pay a GP $75 for a referral, wait 3 months, pay $350 for 15 minutes, got $100 rebate from the free health scheme and nothing from our insurance.

But I admit the availability of free, fast, high quality hospital and ambulance (including air-ambulance) service in an emergency, with no questions asked is a weight off your mind.

In the USA, a full 50% of all bankruptcies are related to medical situations. And of the 50%, 50% of those bankruptcies are to those who have health insurance and could not afford the Co Pays.

Do you know offhand how many people in Australia go bankrupt due to medial issues? I would really be curious. I have oftern said I will pay $7.00 if I no longer have to pay for health insurance....... Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe in Europe, even rapid transit and education is free or freer due to high tax on gasoline.

$3.88 in Dallas area. If we paid $7.00 for a gallon of fuel in lieu of health insurance. Our govt would still screw us.

You are going to get screwed by Exxon or the Feds, just a matter of who you would like to take it from.............

In fact, since the powerful Exxon and the Feds are sleeping together, I guess it really doesn't make a difference who sticks it in and breaks it off.

My ass is always sore. I would use French Fry grease to run my fleet...I just can't eat enough of them... Soon it won't matter how much money you have. The govt will find a way to take it all.

I know some will say it's futile, but this is exactly why I feel compelled to support Ron Paul and why I can still hope...................
