I heard that Audie Lester who use to be with ImagePoint, and then Blair Companies, then went to Permlight LED = just joined Agilight. Ouch!

Not good news for Agilight aka GeneralLED who had also been legally pursued by other large companies....

I've heard of this for a couple weeks now. Since everyone is suing everyone, including applie suing google and android phones - let's all see how it washes thru the courts and then have major discussions. How many lawsuits are filed to just file, and just to try and piss others off. GE was pissed when Glantz started selling their products, as was Sloan. It might very well be just a pissing contest i.e. pissing into the wind to see gets the wettest.

With all the money that GE saved in not paying their taxes, perhaps they needed another write off for this year.

And I use to work at a company in this space that did this as well suing GE, Sloan, US LED, ElectraLED, etc... it is either done to eliminate the competition, to augment income through licensing which means higher unit prices from the company sued... but you are right... the market is so competitive right now I think we will see lots of lawsuits again.

I respect patent law but always think it is crazy that the attorneys make most of the money.

The Federal Circuit on Thursday gave GE Lighting Solutions LLC a new chance to make an infringement case against AgiLight Inc. after finding that an Ohio federal court misconstrued key terms of three GE patents covering an LED lighting display device.

Read a bit of the patent suit - I thought a patent was supposed to be "novel" - nothing seems to be novel to me. Same thing with software patents.
