I'm looking for photos of sign trucks and cranes from the 40s and 50s. I want to build one as a show truck . Any photos and information will help.

Thanks

Paul:

Give Tom or Mike Bradley at Radocy in Rossford, OH. 1-419-666-4400. As I remember they have some great old photos of their early build cranes.

Anybody have any images to throw up?

I remember passing a art gallery once long ago when I first started in this industry and they had a lot of old B&W sign installs and sign trucks for some reason. Thinking back I should have asked why they had so many, my guess is they probably had some ties to the industry. They were some cool shots that looked to be from the 30's

Thanks for all the help. Some of the photos are great. It is an interesting and a learning opportunity for all of us to see how the installing end has changed.

There is nothing like todays automatics, push button controls and hydraulic operations. Then at the end of the job, just sit in the air ride seat and air conditioniong.

This year is Elliott Equipment's 65th anniversary in the business, so we might be the only manufacturer that can offer up some high resolution mid-century pictures. Here are some pictures of 1950s Elliott HiReach that we have on our factory office walls. It's pretty amazing how far we've come in terms of safety, design, and multi-functionality!

We still have the sign truck shown in the first picture, and it still runs. Great for local parades.
