Yellow Page Ads

What do you all do for yellow page ads? We are seriously considering dropping our phone book ads down to just a teeny ad. The cost is pretty high and even though we get calls from them (the phone book company has a pass thru number so they can track the calls) I can't say that we are getting any decent jobs from them. And even though the ad says "electrical signs", people still ask if make the signs that light up.

Yellow page ads are a giant waste of money. We dropped ours years ago and have not missed it.

every time yellow pages and newspaper companies call me I ask them if they've ever heard of the internet, when its cold we light our wood stove with that stuff

That's what we were thinking.... not worth the paper it's printed on! The local rep - a nice lady - came to do her sales pitch and I had to ask her to bring phone books, we didn't have anything recent.

We dropped ours last year and have not seen any decrease in business. Phone books are a thing of the past. Internet is were its at, any business worth working for has the internet and smart phones.
