When Signs Were An Art

Recommended Posts

When signs were an art form, when you had truly "skilled" employed help and NOT just popped a light box on a wall.

Here's a video I came across on my own local town. It kinda blew me away because we're no longer allowed to have any outdoor animated signs, but wow at the creativity it took to make these. Truly it can be said, "The good ol days"

Those were the days ------- my dad did alot of animated signs in PHoenix before they were banned, and I got to service alot of those signs over the next 50 years or so. Some are still around, most were torn down for neighborhood changes, and many became a victim of abandonment.

The "Good Old Days" are most definitely gone when there was sanity in our industry, not to mention the swath of other areas in our country where sanity prevailed..

Add me to the list of those who yearn for those days. But they are gone and i fear never to return. I pray to God that I am wrong though.

Keep fighting the good fight guys................
