  1. Not sure what their employment model is. I always assumed they were on some form of a commission basis. This would keep them from running afoul of most states labor laws.
  2. I have run into this a number of times. Many of the nationals have "Project Managers" working from home all over the place. Seems like the pushy, clueless ones are almost always home based.
  3. Ditto, all the sentiments expressed above. I am tired of writing off bad debt to worthless national companies. When someone we have not worked with sends a project, the first two things I do is run a credit check and log into SS to see if anyone has posted their experience. If it becomes public knowledge that there are a group of nationals and vendors banding to try and shut this site down I will do everything I can to not purchase materials, or accept further work from the guilty parties ( if we are still doing business with them ....). Keep up the good work. It is nice to have a resource that is not censored like the trade rags or controlled by ISA.
  4. Playing devils advocate: Did you not look at the faces and verify everything was correct before installing them? We do a 100% inspection/ verification of all printed faces before we get any shop/ install time into them. Errors are uncommon, but they do happen and it is better to catch the mistakes on the ground, in our shop.
  5. Okay ... is it "crappy" as to the message, or the way it looks? Maybe it is just my photography ...

  6. I love that crappy sign! lol

  7. This was made by Hudson Neon in Houston. It was a hot auction item at the Texas Sign Association annual convention last summer. One of our sales rep's bought it, then re-sold after getting an outrageous offer for it.

  8. I really like your "Crap! Change it Back" neon sign.

  9. solid Works is a great program, although might be overkill for a small/ custom sign shop. At a different company I approved my engineering manager to purchase it for our engineering department. It will stay neck and neck with Pro E for a fraction of the cost. We have thought about it for our shop here, but felt that it was not cost effective unless we moved into more of a repetitive manufacturing environment. It is a great program where needed. For now, we are staying with Corel.
  10. Thank-you for the feedback. Where do you think it should be? We were basing our price off of feedback from wilkie and the rep we buy our bare trucks from.
