  1. Did you really expect them to make a stand. They are the "leadership in the industry" and how dare any of us question them and their actions. It's like the wizard of oz.......don"t pay attention to the man behind the curtain.....just do what I tell you to do, the great one has spoken. I understand that some of these "Leaders" may be to busy to see the operations of their companies. Maybe they believe that all is well and everyone is happy, and all their invoices are paid on time. Maybe they believe it is a perfect world too. But, they need to open their eyes and accept responsibility to correct the issues being brought to their attention. No one wants to hear that their companies reputation sucks as a payer. This site works.......if we all make correct statements about the "National" companies we all benifit. The good ones will get the respect they deserve and the bad....F*&^ THEM. They will have to conform to our terms. We, the subs are their lifeline to their success. Without us they fail to meet their customers demands, they loose. The subs that knowingly take the risks of getting paid, take the jobs at cheap pricing from bad companies deserve what they get.
  2. Mike. Look at SSSigns.com in Kentucky. 1 800 523-1958 They sell lots of them, exactly what you have in the photo.
  3. Signage Solutions Anaheim Calif. Has anyone worked with them lately ? No info on this site Thanks
  4. GRID SIGNS, PA. is going to auction. It appears all their equipment and materials will be sold at auction on Oct 11, 2011. Full equipment lists are available at Quakercityauctioneers.com Another sign company gone,
  5. I received another email from "Regency Signs" Long Island NY asking for pricing on a job. I replied to them..Regency doesn't pay their subs. I told them to read the articles posted here at the sign syndicate. I received a phone call later from them. They were "shocked" at the statements made here. I guess they will either change their name again or make new terms with their subs. This website does work and works well. If we all provide honest statements on the good, bad and ugly of this industry, we can make changes. The bad companies will have no place to go, except go out of business. The whole national sign system will change too. Don't be afraid to make waves and make terms that are in your best interest not theirs.
  6. "The Start" ......I hope that it is not a one time sign deal and you continue with other large projects. Congratulations again and best wishes.
  7. Very nice. Congratulations. I hope this is the start of a great future
  8. Im not breaking your balls, but I would like to see some photos of your new truck. With all the modifications that were done. IM always looking for new ideas

  9. I received a service call and the same service contract from them several months ago. I had some fun with them. I sent them back their questionare and asked them to fill it out. They called and asked if I joking. I guess they could not or would not fill it out. We must be demanding in who we work for and make sure we protect ourselves. If I want to gamble witn my money, I go and have fun doing it. I did receive a service call the other day from another contractor who needed emergency work done now. He put a NTE $ 250 and a 30 day payment statement. I called him and explained my terms. He agreed and sent a credit card for $ 1200. immediately. We did the job. Everyone was happy and I have a new client. Thats the way to work.
  10. You are absolutely correct. This is why our insurances are so high. Everytime someone is injured or killed, there are new and more regulations. Our insurances go up and up. Look at the OSHA requirements and see the requirements that you need to follow. Classes after classes. We are going to have forced continuing education demands forever. All the education doesn't fix "stupid"
  11. SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY How many times do we see workers operating bucket trucks and other equipment without protective gear. Then you see the "Idiots who have it on and don't use it. There is no second chances. Death is forever ! Every owner must demand each worker to be compliant and component in fall protection equipment.
  12. Stefanick... We are all in this business to make a good living. We don't want to be robbed or cheated by anyone including customers, suppliers and manufacturers. We all have different views on how and why we do things. Rocco and most of us want to see the proof that this new company is what they say they are. We only have Kendal and you so far. Kendall has given us no new pictures or proof of what we asked for. You also claim the its the best, but no proof either. I am always looking for better ideas and equipment. I haven't seen anything at I Crane that impresses me. I do see a truck that is user unfriendly. I my area I can not use anything that needs more ground space to operate. I need to be in and out as fast as I can. I looked at your website too, nice installs. I do suggest that you remove the pictures of the installer without a full body harness in the bucket. OSHA Requirements are clearly violated here. I think that you need to understand and train in fall protection requirements. Violations are expensive. Injuries and Death is forever. Work Safe, Think Safe, Go home in one piece. We Look forward to your contributions on this site
  13. I called GEMINI for a quote on custom cut letters and logos, They needed to be 1/4 inch thick oxidized cooper with threaded rods for install. GEMINI RETURNED A QUOTE IN 17 MINUTES. They also guaranteed delivery in 7 days. They are GREAT
  14. The $115,000 for the entire package or $115, plus the cab and chassis. The Ford must be $40,000. That means everything else is $75,000. Is that close? I think there are better built trucks for the same price. I would like to see completion photos to see the improvements. I'm not impressed for the price, its still not user friendly.
  15. Kendal. Just for curiousity, what is the total out the door price. With all the changes that are being made to make the truck work. Please leave out the truck chassis since it changes with different options. I'm not interested in any warrantees, it is only as good as the mfg is in business. We are all in the sign business trying to make a decent living. No one wants to lose money on anything we do. We all learn from others acheivements and mistakes. When we all show off our work, we show our best side. This finished truck is not user friendly. We all pointed out our opinions and you say you are correcting them That costs time and money. Why on earth would you or anyone else buy two of the same trucks which are "Firsts" off the line from a brand new start up company ?
  16. There is no money in the removals and no money at the end of the end of the removals. Don't waste your time
  17. Kendal, You're the one who stated that you have 26 years industry experience and this is the best truck you have seen. If one person can not get into the basket without all the extra work of placing it on the ground first, its useless. If you are dealing directly with the "factory" they should have designed the truck with better features and access. It sounds like you are defending the manufacturer. The truck is not for me and I wouldn't give it a second look. Good luck. Please send oot the corrected items in a picture if you will, thanks.

  19. I don't want to get into the politics behind the scenes. There is NO WAY that this truck has better features. In less than a minutes look, here's the problems on the outside. NO back steps, NO access to the bed from the back or sides. No access to the boom controls. You need to use a step ladder to get on the bed! NO ACCESS to the basket from anywhere! I guess the idea is to stand behind the truck without any visibility as to what your doing. Raise and lower the basket into the roadway or sidewalk........very dangerous. Get in and operate the basket. The Strobe light on the top will blind the operator as the boom goes up and down. There are only 2 small tool boxes on one side only. The hydraulic oil tank is mounted on the outside rails.less room for tool boxes. I don't understand the handle next to the controls. Is it because the rotation will put you off the bed? Maybe you saved $ 50,000, but this truck needs alot of improvements. This truck is not for me. Then there is the mechanical and operation part........another day. Bring the truck to a sign show and lets compare apples to apples. Good luck and best wishes with your two investments.
  20. I like the look, its easy on my eyes to follow. It also has my favorite color...........RED
  21. Rocco, Whats this all about ? This is the reason that when anyone purchases equipment they need to use major names. Reliability, service and safety is what the bottom line is.
  22. Here is another one in the mix. S & F Supplies, Brooklyn NY is now manufacturing their own LEDs. They have them made in Korea and will sell them under the S & F name. They claim they are the same as the other Asian made. They give a guarantee also. Neon will always be around. The educated consumer knows what to expect from the LEDs. All the propaganda of LEDs can't match 110 plus years of neon service. I still work on landmarked neon signs built in the 1920s. I just replaced a neon transformer that was dated........1952
  23. Stamford signs said it all. The more we remember the past, the better it was. The inner workings of the shops was a 3 ring circus with talent everywhere. I remember doing signs in the street, lettering trucks in the street and all by hand. A painters box with one shot and brushes. The maul stick and stabillo pencil. The jobs were endless. Go to a truck dealer and you were set forever. I walked away with bags of money and smiling ear to ear then.
  24. We are in the middle of NYC. Hundreds of thousands of signs and customers. The biggest part is the signs falling when a storm comes. The bigger the winds, the more work there is. In one recent storm we had 4 trucks out and removed or repaired 19 signs in 9 hrs. We were able to pick and choose what we wanted to do. We got 12 new signs out of that storm. The holidays are even better. Stores can't open if there are issues with the signs and public safety. We did a sign repair for a major store that needed to be open for the Black Friday Sales. We finished within hrs of the opening. The money on my end was great and we now do all their service. Then there are the "have to have it up" customers who don't care what it takes or costs. Its a great part of our business, and very rewarding if you can handle it. Times square is a whole different story, there is no waiting. The show must go on.
