  1. Hey Sydicate, More and more site surveys are being completed using new smart phone or tablet technology vs then the old pad of paper and a pencil with a point and shoot camera. What technology are you using to collect and distribute your site survey results. Smart Phone Examples - Samsung iPhone Blackberry Nokia Tablets examples: Ipad Ipad Mini Galaxy Tab Microsoft Surface If you know it what version on the device are you using please let us know that also. What measuring devicesare you using? Tape Measure? Spike by Ike Laser Distance Device Or are you still using the pad of paper and pencil/pen and a point and shoot camera? Would love to hear from you so to help us decide what platforms we should release our software on. Chris
  2. FieldSPIDER will be there. Would love to meet up with any sign companies or installation companies to discuss what technology they are using to collect site survey data. We are working on a communication system that will make sharing and collaborating field data much faster and easier.
  3. Nancy, We use Solidworks for 75% of our sign structural designs. It is very strong program if you are going to be doing any level of custom structural sign design (Especially pylons). I would not recomend it for "Graphic Art" as there is better programs for this (Corel and Flexi). Also, we use AutoCad for Channel letters as Solidworks does not make it any faster/easier to complete those 2D designs. The upfront costs is a high in comparision to AutoCad but the additional functionality is worth it, also your annual maintenance fees can be $1500+ per year per seat which can be tough to afford for some. regards Chris Sharpe
