  1. Go to some of the Pontiac chat forums and check out their vendors or those trying to sell their products in the For Sale sections. I know some of them sell letters for Firebirds and other GM vehicles to fit in the recessed areas. Chances are someone may have the style for the GP.
  2. Have not seen one, but it's been all over the news and headlines. Nothing like getting a lot of free advertising for the promo.
  3. Y U quotin me and talkin bout misspellin in da same post???
  4. Thanks for posting this, Gary. I wanted to get to it today, but after I posted it to the list I got covered up with trivial stuff and unfortunately didn't get back to it. Btw, the email I posted to the list for Barb is still good. I sent her an email and she replied.
  5. Things that lead into the weekend... Making a list of things to do at the shop Saturday Oh, wait a minute... That one belongs to Ms. "It's not right" [for wealthy people to be treated this way] Hilton
  6. I would, but for some reason I seem to have lost my moderator powers... again - no buttons to do anything with
  7. I was afraid you were going to say that. Too bad. If there was a way to use something like that everyone could cut down on the amount of mercury they use.
  8. I assume CFL's are post coated rather than pre-coated. So is this Alon-C applied after the tube is coated? Can it stand up to bending temperatures?
  9. I'm not sure I agree with Dave on this one. Ed is a pretty fussy person and very set in his ways. This is just my opinion, but I cannot possibly imagine him even entertaining the idea of teaching someone with a disability much less following through with it if he was somehow convinced to do it. Unfortunately, any kind of neon work other than doing small hobby stuff will involve long periods of standing. Even if you did as Dave suggested and made special tables, burners and other equipment, you would still be very limited as to what you could do. Please don't misunderstand me, I am not trying to burst your bubble or hopes and dreams. I am just trying to give you a realistic viewpoint. There used to be a neon school in Tennessee that claimed they taught handicap people to do neon. But the instructor was only in it for the government money he was paid. Even with the special tables and equipment the school had, it was still very difficult for some to attempt to do the work. I am not aware of anyone that attended the school who actually became a neon bender, or for that matter completed the course.
  10. People like that need to realize that we are all "carbon emissions"!
  11. I have to give you credit for finally admitting that you are "blowin'" something!
  12. Gee, I didn't know high voltage was dangerous. Is that true? Or are you just trying to blow smoke up my ass again? I wonder why there are all those big high voltage transformers hanging all over the utility poles? Hmmm... Are LED's dangerous too? Inquiring minds want to know!
  13. Well, at least he didn't say the all feared words TOXIC MERCURY!
  14. Though it may be true that the neon can be added later, it would most likely be a LOT harder to do after the letters are up. It's been a very long time since I assembled a set of channel letters, but unless all the holes are drilled for housings/pass throughs and all the tube supports are installed, etc., it would not be a fun job. This is not the way it is normally done. As for the neon shop he uses being way behind, I think 3 months is long enough! I think 'coffee' has been had. Perhaps the guys manager at Home Depot should be made aware of the situation and the fact that this guy is out there doing lousy work and telling everyone he works at HD? At the very least I would tell the HD manager that if this is the type of people HD hires that you will make everyone aware of it that you can. It certainly can't hurt. And who knows, it may help the guy finish the job or give you your deposit back. The latter would be preferable IMO, even if you have to start over with a new set of letters from a reputable sign company.
  15. Rosie probably has wet dreams about Hasslebeck
