  1. I assume that was a joke??? Since only one casino is between them?? That way Eric can crawl home from the convention. gn
  2. ??? Small holes?? YOu mean the "small holes" that they refer to in the applied gray vinyl? gn
  3. I guess you got so excited with your camera that you just had to squeeze off a shot BEFORE you finished sticking the letters up? Or did you think we wouldn't notice that some letters are protruding, some are leaning, and that you decided to use two different gto wires so you could try matching the wrong boot with the wrong gto??? gn
  4. . I was thinking the same thing West Coast. You dont have any use for electrodes. Now, that is short sighted thinking !!! He's interested in bettering the product that he gets, he happens to know of someone that makes, or sells, some good electrodes, and he knows someone that attempts to put out quality neon thta just might NOT know that someone else is putting out a good product------------sounds like a winner situation to me. gn
  5. Just for information---------since many of you know what my current career is, here's a site that all of you might be interested in reading. Its quite an easy read, and I'd suggest that you print it, read it, and then think back how long we've been laid over the table. http://files.meetup.com/366189/Bankings%20...0Secrets%20.pdf gn
  6. So, is is improper to ask---------are you making them on the proprietary equipment--------------. How do we reference this little suckers------------""the snyder trode", SVP trode (some very proprietary) trode, markie trode,, or just "the best" trode ???? gn
  7. Haven't seen that yet, but want to. YOu could send me a copy-------------!!! Oops, that's illegal isn't it !! Thank goodness for the internet though. gn
  8. I wonder just what "uncapped wiring" refers to--------- gn
  9. I read this and the neon list posts-----and want to cry a bit. Maybe 10 years ago, the INA (International Neon Association) was founded, and it lasted less time than it took to make it. We had our debut at a Vegas show----------I had about 500 INA caps made up, we had all kinds of folks interested in what we were, and who we were, and lots of interest. But, alas, alot of the interest was if someone else was doing the work. We had some great, great folks from the neon industry that were interested in becoming a formidable voice amongst and between the ISA's, et al. We had support from the various mfg and suppliers that had the same interests as us-------protecting neon from hackers, and from the gvt hackers. Trouble was, toooo many needless bickerings about nothing by some folks that thought they knew it all and wouldn't listed to others that knew more. Sound like our industry??? We thought we could be the one component that had the intrested of neon, and had the information and knowledge to protect the industry-------it died. Both the INA, and slowly the industry. Somewhere------I've got the original artwork from the INA. Somewhere in Florida, Jack has all the legal entity stuff from the INA. And somehwere amongst the postings of the neon-l lies the shit that condemned it. gn
  10. Guess I should have clarified "tranny's". Funny yyz. As for the supplier guys------------they gotta catch me first-----------after they find me. Heck, even David Ablon took a sec to recognize me last week----------I guess I'm way to much in the gray hair dept now. gn
  11. Oh yeah-------------you and Kgirl, grab some BIG bags and collect all the giveaways------------lots of free samples, etc. Get tecnolux for a bunch of their FREE handouts of boots, etc. Occasionally, you can talk them out of free tranny samples----but don't tell them I told you!! gn
  12. If you go to the ISA website-------all the info on the speakers, etc. Of course, SloanLED, et al will be giving seminars on the 'proper" usage, and the tremendous benefits of using LED's. Morgan Crook is doing one on UL2161 trannies, etc. That one MIGHT be okay------. Mike Johnston and Steve Kiefer are doing one on neon installs and LED installs----------------Mike is from the IAEI, and Steve is an independent consultant. That one could be quite good as it'll show the direction of the UL, and their ponderig requirements---------------. Many more-------------to choose from. IF I was going------------I"d probably go to all those-----------keep up on the LED b.s., keep up on the UL b.s., kkeep up on the 2161 b.s., etc. gn
  13. Well, lets see----------our own LED guy, John from VEntex will surely be there----------since according to the floor plan, they have a booth, course Masonlite has a booth, but doubt they will be there. Mark probably won't be. Travis probably won't be. I probably won't be. Sean from EGL probably will be. So far-------bout fifty, fifty. Oh yeah----------I'm sure Joe from Tecnolux will be along with David Ablon. Maybe Joe will alert the crew to a possible neon party they often hold-----------sometimes at Yesco shop. You'll probably get to meet the mad German Scientist, Marcus Thielan who helps with Tecnolux. Actually German, and a scientist, and brilliant mind, and a decent bender, both scientific and neon stuff. Telford will probably be there. Oops, sounds like fun !!!!!!! And Kgirl will be there----------------. gn
  14. Seems like there is much more of an art to neon. Absolutely-----------------------and the difference between a good neon man and a neon arteeeeest--------------an arteeeeest can't follow a pattern to save his soul. The explanation for not being able to -------he'[s expressing his creative abilities. While the good neon man------------he can follow a pattern to the line, and he's still able to express his creative abilities by proving it. gn
  15. Geez---think how boring mine would be if it said LED LED LED gn
  16. That was a pretty darn good summary-------------and I might add, do NOT believe everything, nor much of, what is written by LED companies aboaut LED's. Neon has been out, proven, virtually as long as Adam first poked Eve. LED people, and their materials, are full of bias, bullshit, and propaganda. And when they have to "put up or shut up"---------they run for the door. Does LED have a use------------obviously, yes. Does it have a place in our society, and our little commerce of making and building signs, yes. Will it eliminate neon, no. Make a dent in the neon industry because of the bullshit, bias, and propaganda, yes. Would I install a LED sign over a good neon sign-------------assuming I got to do the neon and the install-------------???? Heavens, no. I watched a customer of my Dad's, who had neon that my dad had made, by their calculations some 25-28 years prior. Being the consumate professional that he was------------cut the electrodes off, cleaned out the tube, used the same electrodes, repumped the tube-----------------and both he and the client laughed about whether it would last another 25-28 years before some person broke it. gn
  17. Yeah--but Westcoast---look at the shop you could have, and the HUGE parties you could have!!!!!!!!!! Get all those lovely ladies that you have pics of, all in one place-----------. Course, is KGirl the jealous type??? gn
  18. Sure looks bigger than 7000 sq ft !! gn
  19. Personally I agree with Mark's assessment----Holy Shit. 600 Amps for a house??? And all in romex. Surprised the guy didn't cutom paint the romex for each outlet. Hope he got paid by the hour for the overall neatness of the job. gn
  20. I just asked a question. Trying to understand why Eric would spend time doing other rigorous, possibly quite strenuous, extra curricular activites----------------Or spend quality time at the keyboard, bettering this website, definitely bettering the knowledge of the trade, etc. But, perhaps, with better edification of the alternatives, I might be willing to change my line of reasoning, and rephrase the question to a "whynot" scenario. gn
  21. Aside from Travis--------------- Yes, like I've mentioned before----enjoyable site, good people, etc. Let's close the entrance now !!! Great job------------Thanks for the time and effort, but why would you want to spend less time doing this and more time doing Kgirl, er, I mean, other stuff??? gn
  22. So, besides being extremely good looking, sexy, etc----you also know football, and can cook and bake???? What a woman!!! Have a great Christmas everyone--------oops, that's past. Have a great and exciting New Year !!!! gn
  23. Hmmm, went back to the original and got the same error message. Maybe that server/company wondered why it was getting so many hits???? Anyway, luckily, I had my 12 year old pull off the flash yesterday. Only idea I had was to put it into a powerpoint. Works well. I think I attached it correctly. If not, I have the swf file is you have another way of showing it. gn Presentation1.ppt
  24. A Merry Christmas to all of you. Great little tune for you all to enjoy. http://www.thecompassgroup.biz/merryxmas.swf gn
