I prefer to correspond through email for "paper trail" reasons as well. I have no problem talking to people either its just that to get details that I can refer back to their is no better way then email.
Also Paul your people have you so well insulated its hard to even get through to you. they screen the hell out of the calls when asking for you

WOW another great thought out, fact filled article. I can see why the associations want nothing to do with you in their circle jerks. keep up the great work Erik.

I would love to have a jib like that in our skyhoist
contact the crane center in Ohio, they can get you setup. turns many 2 man jobs into 1 man

why is the basket in that position? something wrong with the leveling cylinder?
-
Alex, thanks for the reply. What does that truck weigh with all your tools and gear on it? what do they cost new?
-
Cant speak about them as I know nothing aboout them. However I would call your local bucket truck repair shop and ask if they know anything about them or have access to parts if need be. A truck that you save 40k on isnt worth a hill of beans if it is down for repairs for 6 weeks because the parts come from italy to repair it. Cry once and get something from a reputable. Manitex, Elliot for sign cranes and Versalift and altec for bucket trucks.

Even when it's cut vinyl applied to the face? I could see that when it's a printed flex face but the two substrates are totally different animals.
I think it has been reverse cut vinyl applied to flex face. Its miserable dont get me wrong but its possible. if the mfg says otherwise always give your customer their recommendation and get your terms in writing to cover your ass

I dont know if they still do it but in the case of GM pole signs they would also have to show photos of the anchor bolts cut off and a good portion of the base demo'd
yes that is still the case. those signs are as good as scrap. What dealership is going to buy the old branding when they wont be able to put it up. No collector will buy it.

Pattern use in Winter

dont waste your time with tape and paper patterns. Tape your pattern to coroplast or spray glue. Also you can make them on your router. put a sharpie in the spindle and draw the pattern on the coro and use a cutting bit to cut the pattern out and key it into the next panel and drill the holes through the coro.
