  1. Some reps will you anything until the shit hits the fan. How do I know this?
  2. Generally, the core in ACP is polyethylene and not much will stick to that. I have however had limited success painting the core edge with acrylic lacquer. I couldn't say if it would pass the tape test but it has got me out of trouble.
  3. R.I.P. Val, you never know what's around the corner. Graham
  4. Wow! dunno how that pic got in there?
  5. Nah, it's international. For over 30 years I employed staff, average was around five to seven people including myself. Many were long term. For the past five years it's just me and I could not be more content and now I get to pick and choose who I work for and the jobs I take on. No more stress, no more staff. GC
  6. Humid, hot & Steamy here. Had 8" of rain on Sunday night though. Gold Coast, QLD, Oz
  7. I'll be sipping Mai Tai's in Maui.
  8. Denny, thanks heaps for the reply. I'll pass those details on to my friend. Thanks again & have a great day, Graham
  9. A friend in OZ is looking for 750mm punched pounce paper to fit a Gerber 750 which is no longer available here. Can anyone recommend a supplier in the USA or the UK that might still stock it? Thanks in advance. regards, Graham
  10. Sorry, that we won't be there this year & we hope you all have a great time. We did the ISA show four years in a row but our circumstances have changed recently. Maybe we might catch up again in future years. regards, Graham & Leanne.
  11. Eric, next vacation, Come on UP!
  12. That's a very interesting map. Australia at the top, right where it should be :)
  13. Did I mention that we are paying a Tax on "Carbon Dioxide" from July 1? Starting at $23 per tonne the country 500 biggest "polluters" will be slugged $23 per tonne of "Carbon Dioxide" emmissions they produce. They are of course energy producers and the like so that cost will be passed on to the consumer who are already paying for a huge increase in power, water etc supply that will of course get worse once the tax starts in just over a month. Currently our home elecricity supply is approx $1,100 per quarter (over $4,000 per year). And this is imposed during our countries worst economic climate in my lifetime. Google carbon dioxide, it is the air that you exhale.
  14. Snoochie, as Greg has said, Medical is "Free" here in Oz.......... As long as you don't die waiting whereas private health insurance is expensive. I have never heard of anyone here declaring bankruptcy over medial bills though. I would expect it must happen but is not common. Public transport in OZ is sooper dooper expensive compared to what I have seen in the USA. University is funded via grants that have to be paid back unless you are a lazy f*cker that doesn't earn enough to do so. GC
  15. We hope to be there again in 2012 but have a few other commitments that month. Flights from OZ are dirt cheap up until the end of March as is accomodation and everything else in the USA so it is an attractive option to go. The OZ dollar is still close to parity. Is there a party planned this year? Will Anita be there? :) GC
  16. Hey Sean, happy belated birthday. Hope to catch up up in Orlando. GC
  17. Erik, you probably have this sorted by now but as I have just stumbled on the thread I'll throw my hat in. We do have a stud welder but for acrylic push thru lettering we would flange the acrylic & chemical weld the acrylic with two pack adhesive. As long as the surfaces of both the ally and the acrylic are clean we have had no failures. The product we use is SIKA brand but 3M also make a similar excellent product. We always try to make each letter a separate piece to eliminate expansion problems however we have had success with joined script lettering and long underlines etc. I have attached a pic of a recent job that also included 316 stainless faces that were also adhesive joined to the acrylic push thru's. Incidentally, these S/S faces were also held with stainless studs, nuts & washers as the client was very specific on their requirements although the studs were completely unnecessary. regards, Graham
  18. Kirstie, I'm a foreigner and I'll certainly shake your hand. regards, Graham
  19. Leanne & I had a confirmed booking to tour the Neon Boneyard on the 29th April (before the S/S meet & greet at Dicks) but received a message only hours before that it would be closed for the day due to the strong winds. Oh well, there is always some other year & the S/S & Axiom parties made up for it :) regards, Graham
  20. Eric & Kgirl, there might be some pics or vids that I would love to have a copy of (i'm sure you will know which ones ). Please send them to me if you have some. To all the people we met at the party, we had a great time & would love to catch up again. Manuel & Stephanie put on a great show & that bus trip was something to remember. regards, GC & L So you do remember it ! Oh Yeah :)
