So you actually think they spent most of $60,000.00 per year on maintenance? Oh come on. As far as calling them a liar that is crazy, but if you state some huge numbers on here, be prepared to be questioned and have some facts to back it up. These guys and gals are not stupid and will catch it every time. I'll follow up with the client and see if I can get a breakdown from him. If I had to guess, I'd say they were spending $1,000 a month on maintenance on average and the rest of the savings were operational. When I say maintenance I mean costs related to replacement and repair. That seems reasonable when you are talking about the linear footage they replaced and do the math on an average 70-75% less wattage used. I'd have to get the KwH rate for their area to do an accurate breakdown though.

I was actually quoting the number provided by the client. Derek gave the wattage savings, which were substantial but I also think the other savings the client quoted related to maintenance which is difficult to quantify. The client stated that the previous lighting that was in place required quite a bit of maintenance and repair, so the $5,000 a month number I think included all of that. It was not my intention to spout off a big number for effect, I was merely reciting a number that was given to me by a casino client that had a very large install. I apologize for not calling him a liar and demanding to see the breakdown.

I work with Derek at LED Neon Flex and I think you are all going to be very surprised with how our product holds up against regular neon and how much easier and less expensive it is to install. Not to mention more energy efficient. Sometimes it is hard for us to convert the regular sign guys, the old-schoolers, because they don't believe LED can be as bright or they think it is too expensive. When you factor in the cost of installation, we are right on par with regular neon, allowing the customer to see the cost savings almost immediately. We just did a major casino project in Iowa and they are reporting saving $5,000 a month on operation and maintenance costs.
