  1. Points well taken Gary. I am going to try and make that meeting. I want to do the right thing, but quite frankly, I don't think this community even has a plan for disposal of any type of hazardous waste products. Maybe they do and I am just that ignorant.....that is probably the case if the truf be known. Thanks for your insight. :weld:
  2. That would be a good seminar to sit in Gary. Seems like anyone who sells any type of bulb (ie...Lowes and Home Depot) should be held to the same standard as the poor sign man trying to turn two rocks into his next meal.... It will be interesting.... :weld:
  3. How many of you guys are planning to go to the show in Orlando in March? I would like to hook up with some of you guys if you plan to go. :weld:
  4. Freddy, Thanks for the help, but not sure what you mean. It still moves the text to the top.... I want the copy to have the effect that it sags on the bottom.
  5. I am trying to do a pattern for a neon clock and I am using Corel Draw...have been for years, but this is the first time I have needed to make a negative arch for the copy. Can someone walk me through the process. I created a circle, typed my first line of copy in, selected both objects and then selected "fit text to path" The copy applied itself to the top of the circle perfectly.... the problem is.... I need to get a line copy to fit to the bottom of the circle on the outside just like the top. HELP
  6. My copy of Corel Draw just got a mind of its own. I use Corel Draw to do neon sign samples and pattern work for customers. All of sudden, when I go to export a file it puts in pixels instead of inches. Can someone tell me how to change it back. It is kicken this south georgia redneck's ass. :weld:
  7. WCSG....... buy a scanner that converts all documents to PDF files that you can email. Don't cut no corners here. Buy one that you can scan mutliple documents under one name and send the entire thing. This has saved me an enormous amount of time.... I am done with the fax machine.....good in its time, but now it too is like the Gerber IVB.....know what I mean?
  8. Hey Guys, I have friend (Melvin Forte, dba Neon Plus) who has this pump he would like to sell. No idea what he wants for it.....just thought I would list it for him and see if some of you would be willing to decides its worth. He actually has a bunch of Neon Equipment for sale. I have known Melvin for years....just did a repair for him this morning...... Let me know if this or any piece of neon plant may of any use to you. :weld:
  9. Good Morning All, Just got through watching the joy of my two kids celebrate Christmas morning for the 11th time. It never gets old. It does suck though that we don't maintain the level of enthusisasm around here year round....Perhaps 2008 will be different. It is my sincere hope that all of you can find time today to reflect on Christmas' pasts. If you are with your families, embrace them for you know our time here is short. The older I get, the faster time moves. K-Girl and WCSG...... hope the pregancy is continuing to go smoothly. I will pray for you both....
  10. Been too busy myself...... I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Erik, looks like the Jaguars will play the Chargers out there.....got any tickets for me : )
  11. Jo ------ got your quote....been really busy since vacation.... WCSG said would get a HUGE discount if I told you I was LT and Chargers fan.....any truth to that? :weld:
  12. Thanks for the replies. I have been at the beach all week and I will be back in the plant tomorrow. I will be in touch once I know the exact number and square footage.....
  13. Hey Guys, I need a wholesale supplier for a digital printing job. I am looking for someone to do a bunch of printing for me for a high school here. I did some neon signs for them last year and they have requested some ideas about how to promote athletics in the halls of the high school. I suggested that we could do some graphics on perforated vinyl and apply them to the glass of offices throughout the high school halls. I need something that when the graphic is applied, one will be able to see out from the inside but not see in from the outside.....any suggestions? :weld:
  14. Geeez Erik, I have 19 rocks that are older than me dude..... thanks for the wishes.... Neon still owns the sign business.
  15. Ooops.... must have deleted my response. Ed Waldrum's School of Neon is in your backyard, however it would be difficult for Ed to adapt his course instruction for the disability you describe. There is no doubt that you could learn the trade, however, you would have to have a special set of fires and tables to make the process easier for you. Don't give up and perhaps call Ed and ask for his advice. He been doing this for 60 years and the contacts he has may help you find some resolve. :weld:
  16. My digital camera of late has expired. Funeral services will not be held, however, a trash burial will suffice. I am on vacation at the beach in Florida with my family and my digital camera has left me unable to record the quality time with my two kids. So obviously, I am going to take a brief break from the "heinies" and head into society this morning looking for a picture snapper. Been almost 10 years since I purchase the dead on I have. I am out of the technology curve regarding what to look for to get the most camera for a decent price. Any suggestions before in grace the townspeople with my presence would deeply appreciated. :weld:
  17. Just got a request to make a sign that contains a neon "cowgirl" Does anyone have any artwork that I could use or know somewhere other than GOOGLE Images that I can get some artwork that could be replicated in NEON? I have an enormous window space to work with.... 7' x 8'. The name of the place is "Dirty Nellies Bar & Grill" . That may help you determine that type of neon girl with a cowboy had that I need. Preesh....... :weld:
  18. I want to thank all of you with your thoughts and advice. Bless all of you. :weld:
  19. Great article..... You gotta love it. :weld:
  20. I have learned more than the price of admission here. Keep debating the subject. I like the suggestion regarding using the Green EGL designer glass.... I also like the suggestion of using something other than 6500 white and switching to single stroke...... Don't stop the debate.
  21. A good customer of mine has recently made the decision to shift most of his channel letter busines to LED applications. I have done over 40 sets of channel letters for one particular account over the last several years. Recently, he did a set of channel letters for this account and opted to use LED as the illumination source. He told me Friday that he needed me to do a set of letters quick because his client (who owns four of these restaurants) complained that the letters were not bright enough. Let me give you some specs and you guys coach me up on how his problem can be improved. The letters are upper and lower case (25 letters in all) Caps are 28". The font is a similar to a Souvenier Bold. The cans have a 6" return and he uses white acrylic with transluscent green vinyl on all the sets. He used only one strip of LED lighting components. The sets I have done have all been 6500 White 15mm double stroked. I know very little about LED applications and would like very much for you all to let me know what can be done, if anything, to achieve the same light intensity as neon in this type of application and the costs invoived in doing a job of this magnitude. I would like to compare it to what I charge for Wholesale Neon channel letters :weld: .
  22. No disrespect intended Marko. I will no longer refer to anyone as "son" as I can see that it is preceived as disrespect to some if not everyone not from Georgia. Please forgive me my friend.
