Gary, Good morning—went over your question with Henry and he here is his response: Please see the attached picture of the UNT1512N3G correctly placed in the Transformer Box. Per the instructions in our Transformer Box, the spacing requirements are the following: For a 15KV, minimum spacing between high volt parts & ground: 1.5” For a 15KV, minimum spacing between live primary parts & ground: .75” In this picture, there are 2” for Part A (.5” more than minimum required) and for Part B there is 1” (.25” more than the minimum required) Regarding your question about the theory of mounting the Transformer to one side to the Transformer Box for additional heat dissipation, the UNT Tank is designed & manufactured by default to be the Coolest Running Neon Transformer on the Market—so you are perfectly fine mounting the UNT Tank in the center. When you use 100% Copper, Higher Grade Steel Laminations, A Larger Core, Epoxy Resin Fill, & Extensive Additional Manufacturing Processes To Ensure Maximum Core Strength, it all culminates into the least stress on the “heart” of the Transformer, ensuring maximum strength and life.
