  1. The phone number is 800.310.2887, his name is Jim Whitney. It would really be handy if you make many channel letters. One giuy could do the work of 2 easily. Glueing onn the trim cap is the most time consuming thing now.Wish someone would automate that.
  2. I have one of their newer machines and it works great. I sent the pictures of the serial no. tag to the person I talk to there and they tell me this is a notcher / flanger only and does not bend.
  3. Do they already have access to an electrical grid? I would think if the grid was there they and they are connected now, they would have a small light at least. I guess I need more info. I am guilty of not knowing much other than what I see on cable news. Which is more entertainment than news anymore. I applaud your efforts.
  4. We do pretty well with SignSearch. I get at least 2 jobs a month from it. Pretty cheap advertising for me. Beats the yellow pages as far as price goes.
  5. Creating files for this machine is all I use Neon Wizzard for. They package it with all their machines. It has an export function that allows you to seperate lines and polygons ( I think That's how it reads) when you create a .dxf.
  6. I forgot, Neon Engineering has a location in Georgia, and they might accidentely have it. They stock a lot of colors in their Cinn., OH office. I buy a lot from them. They can also get single sheets if you have the time to wait. Neon Engineering 4660 N Royal Atlanta Dr Ste D Tucker, GA 30084 Phone: (770) 939-6366
  7. Oracal makes a nice pink translucent vinyl. I just used some on a set of "Ann Loren" letters. Their a womens and childrens store.
  8. FYI, Neon Wizard is the reccomended software for this machine. It comes with it when you buy one new. I don't know why but it exports a better dxf file than anything else for this patricular machine. I have tried Flexi, Corel, Illustrator and others but Neon Wizard works best. Also, this machine only works with fonts that don't have short sarrifs. It needs about 1.3 inches to change direction. The bigger the letter, the better job it does. If you do an Arial font you can probably make a hundred letters a day with it.
  9. Can you find out some info, like serial number and what exactly do you get. I would be very interested. I already own one of these. Let me know asap.
  10. I would imagine the reason they do this is to keep people from building mailing lists to call or sale to their customers and also screwing up their customer stats. I pay to advertise on signsearch and they give me stats on people who view my info and they probably want to keep this info accurate. I'm sure a lot of people go there to search out companies to sell to and are not looking for a sign service. Hope this makes since.
  11. I don't use Corel that much, but one thought would be to do it on the top and then rotate it 180*.
  12. At the top of Corels work space is a tab box that says UNITS. It has a drop down menu for inches, mm ect.. Check that first. Gerald
  13. We use these all the time in large, lighted signs. Especially flex faces. They are used in high rises and other hard to get to or expensive service places. They have a long life and, if you have 25 to 20 of them in a big sign and a couple go out ,the sign is still in ok shape untill service is done. We put light diffusers around the bulb to avoid hot spots. I would say the gym took short cuts and didn't use fixtures with shields around them to save $$$. You can get shielded or unshielded fixtures.
  14. I'll keep you in mind. I'm right outside Lexinton, KY. Business was slower during the Summer but has really picked up the past couple months. Send me some pricing info. Gerald Imagistix, LLC www.imagistixllc.vom
  15. I don't know about Florida, but in KY he would be set up too close to the lines and the lines should have been sleeved by the power company. They will do that for free if you give them notice. If they drive by and they are not sleeved they can have you shut down. I don't think lightning was involved either, but anything is possible I guess.
  16. I have this art in .eps if you need it. Just size it to fit.
  17. I need some help pricing some equipment that I should have sold a year ago but didn't. I am primarily in the outdoor lighted business. I am thinking about getting out of the banner and small sign business. I have a Gerber Edge II and a Envision plotter. Several cartridges. Mimaki JV3-160S, pc with rip installed (Raster Link Pro) Mimaki JV4-160, Like new, This was purchased becaused the previous owners thought there was big money in sublimation. Universal Laser 12x24 cutting area, 50 watt. This thing was barely used. Don't know why they bought it. I have used the JV3 some. Not like most of you guys do probably. We purchsed the company about a year after they bought this stuff. I should have sold it immediatly but didn't. Can some of you guys tell what you think it is actually, really worth?
