  1. Why not replace with Fluke? Great brand. I have a Tenma. Cheesy ground clip. Had to replace it. Sits on the shelf now while I sit at a desk. They're all about $150.... Fluke, B&K, Tenma. There is probably a better deal somewhere. 1530 is likely the highest voltage you're going to see on a service call. Match your meter's quality. Hope this helps.
  2. Nice Job CAD Signs! Check out their listing. To use the vernacular, It's bangin... :) Get in on these free listings while you can. Otherwise you'll have to part with $50. I know, it's a break the bank cost. :)
  3. Topic Closed. Updated thread available at http://www.thesignsyndicate.com/forums/index.php?/topic/7101-free-sign-company-directory-listing/
  4. I've posted this again In an effort to condense my original thread. The Original thread has been closed. View Listings Here Register and Submit A Listing Here Limited to the month of February, Bay Graphic will be accepting your logo images, contact info, and website info for free placement on our National Installer List. These initial free listings will not have any other fees assessed. However, I am limiting the number of free initial listings to 50 (43 as of 2/24/15) companies. Over the next month we will implement advanced search features as well as targeted geolocation results based on our site visitor's location. While one of roughly 4 sites dominate the market for sign company listings and actually produce bonafide leads, all charge between $200-400 per year. Unlike the other search sites, we won't be charging as much. Granted, $400 per year isn't all that much, yet compared to a listing that costs a one time $50 set up fee it's an excellent deal. Why and how can we do this? -We're not a directory site; we primarily service the signage and architectural industries. -We already get traffic and calls from end users looking to have a sign built. -We want the caliber and class of the listings to reflect licensed and reputable companies. -No one will be able to pay just to have a listing and all listing will be subject to removal for licensing, OSHA, or other legitimate violations. What information can be listed? -Listing Image W: 250px by H:100px REQUIRED -Company Profile Image 500px wide. No height restriction. REQUIRED -YouTube Video Embed (Have us create one for you or use your own) OPTIONAL -Services, Equipment, etc. REQUIRED What will we charge for? -As described above, after 50 companies OR after February we will only charge a one time $50 set up fee to post your profile information you have provided. -First and foremost we're a design services firm.... If you would like an animation, video, or illustration produced for your company we can provide you with a quote to do such. What will we be doing to market this feature of our site? -We're in Beta-Testing for the next month as we roll out and test features. -We're refining the application to be SEO optimized to various search engine's algorithms. -We will also invest in direct marketing to include this search feature as a benefit to our Architectural and General Contractor clients. -Additionally, targeted advertising placement is planned which spotlights this service to end users and will meet or beat compettors page views. How do I submit my information? You will need the following to complete your profile: 1.) Company Information (Name, Address, Web, *Listing Image & Profile Image) 2.) Select your services and equipment offered. (Comprehensive checkbox choices available.) 3.) Write some content in your About tab. 4.) Enter your license and issuing authority information. (You may enter "Pending" if you need to gather this info. However your account is subject to removal if you don't submit it) Visit This Link to Sign Up *These are required -Listing Image W: 250px by H:100px REQUIRED -Company Profile Image 500px wide. No height restriction. REQUIRED

A profile image 500 pixlels wide. height not restricted. 3.) OPTIONAL a youtube video identifer.... e.g. "_F1Onbyp-DI" Complete the form and voilla.... your listing is ready to go. We're in Beta Testing right now so the search and geolocation for "Companies Near Me" is not enable yet. I expect we will enable these features by the end of the week. Currently 44 free listings available. I've only entered 2 of the 6 listing requests I received as of the posting of this message.
  6. Sure thing, Mark. In the industry since the age of 15. Pushing 21 years of experience. Vast experience from fabrication and installation to design and management. I've been doing consulting for Architects, GC's, and the like for while now as well as servicing the sign industry as advertised here and my website. My operation is portable. No office and no employees. Some days I work poolside, while most days I'm at my home office. Additionally, I occasionally work onsite with a client or attend meetings on their behalf. I collaborate with many, from high end architectural signage firms to mom and pop operations. If you're part of the first 50, you don't have to pay. If you or anyone else misses the free opportunity, the price is a one time $50 set up fee, as described above. You can vet my credentials and experience on LinkedIn.... plenty of recommendations and endorsements and over 3,000 connections. https://www.linkedin.com/in/josephlicari On a personal note, I'm a father and a husband. Family first before anything else. Hope this helps, Mark. Thanks for asking.
  7. Here are the initial layout pages. I made a mistake regarding the listing image size. That can be up to 250px wide x 100px tall. Nonetheless, this should give you a feel of the design intent for the company listing pages to be rolled out. Would sincerely appreciate your feedback and suggestions. By the way, 48 free listings left. GENERAL COMPANY PROFILE PAGE: DETAIL - PROVIDERS NEAR ME: PROFILE LOOK W/YOUTUBE EMBED: PROFILE LOOK W/COMPANY IMAGE:

  9. Ever heard of outriggers, bub? Guess who's insurance policy just got jacked up.....even canceled. And can I get a, Ohhhhh Boy.... wait 'til OSHA is done with your ***. Glad no one was hurt, but this was definitely a completely avoidable incident.
  10. There are more than a few off the shelf and SaaS solutions out there. I never really liked Peachtree... at least not for our industry. No matter what you decide, just keep in mind that the more users you have, the more difficult it is to change up applications. e.g. if you have 7-8 users in various roles, involve them in the decision process, have them help evaluate what they want, like, and need, etc. Each have their strengths, most limit customization, and few have modules or add ons which are pretty good overall. I have nothing bad to say about the following: -Cyrious -SignTracker I can't say enough good things about the following, however they're pricey ERP solutions: -Plex -Keyedin Sign Edition -Epicor I would be happy to build you a custom solution for unlimited users which handles invoices, purchase orders, job tracking, document management, customer & sub-contractor facing interface, web integration, installer integration, shop floor integration, inventory, etc. Basically all the bells and whistles you can ever need. However you would be in the neighborhood of $15-20k for development plus travel expenses and lodging from Northern CA to your location. It would take about a month before it's ready to deploy for beta and at least (4) 2 day site visits. Ballpark of $25k completed with 3 years remote support. However, I'm not sure you would need this level of customization. You may very well be completely satisfied with any of the aforementioned products. They're all scalable and follow well established best practices. Feel free to ask me any questions. Hope this helps,
  11. I've put together a short 2 minute video overview of my services. I would greatly appreciate your feedback and am always happy to answer any questions you might have. I always seem to get some interesting feedback from my new clients. The most common denominator among them is complete surprise on how affordable yet thorough and comprehensive my work is. The biggest marketing challenge I've ever faced is overcoming prospective client's preconceived notion they can't afford my services. After being in this industry for a long time I know: 1.) that a pretty picture can help sell a sign but you can't typically build from it 2.) architects and general contractors demand comprehensive production & fabrication submittals 3.) vast sign experience, efficiency, and the right tools have real value over a "designer" The following video is available in 1080p HD. I'm pretty certain that any sign company would be hard pressed to find an equivalent service provider that's more affordable than Bay Graphic. Again, please ask any questions you may have. Thanks for watching!
  12. I've done a lot of designs used for this process. Not to sure what type of equipment was used for large scale production runs. I had a short run of custom engraved glasses for gifts. The sub I used here in Northern California had a few machines. He ran the glasses on one of his smaller machines that had an rotary attachment. It was one glass at a time. Took a few days to get 50 of them. Keep in mind the engraving wasn't all that complicated. He was also running a higher wattage Multicam and some other higher wattage "made in China" flat bed that was of a decent size. The smaller machine was about 40"+/- x 24". I can give you his contact info, but I can't imagine there's not someone in your neck of the woods with the right equipment. From my experience, trophy & awards shops tend to have decent cutting and engraving machines. A few companies I've worked with/at has had smaller 150 watt machines. Precision cuts faster than a router, albeit smaller workable material area. Awesome addition to any sign company in my opinion. Hope this helps, Gary. All the best!
  13. Welcome to the board, Duane. I offer similar services and I'm glad to see others here participating. I really enjoy ADA projects. They're fun. In fact just completed a project in your neck of the woods about 2 weeks ago. Repeat customer, great to work with. When it comes to ADA and Wayfinding, we do a lot more of what you've shown in your post however I love when a client or Architect asks for a walk through visualization. Virtual walks can really help with those pesky decision points that can be confusing. Nonetheless, welcome to the board! Check out our offering sometime and tell me what you think. I'd love to hear your feedback. http://baygraphic.com/Purchase/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13_4&products_id=6 All the best to you, Duane!
  14. How true... As it's shown, it's a Jesus installation. When I was working for an organization in Orlando, FL back in 1999 or 2000, I recall doing an installation that was half in a retention pond. What a muddy mess. My coworker got the bob-cat stuck, a sub we used to do the footing in the pond fell in, and I lost 2 Klein screwdrivers. Also dropped my 14.4 Dewalt hammer drill twice, fully submerged, killing two batteries. Not the best drill motor, but at the time it was versatile enough to do a lot of things. Still got that old dewalt on the far right of the shelf. Older unbalanced grip ... rarely ever use it these days along with the 2 other dewalts up there. Ryobi and Rigid took the role my Dewalt gear held about 2 years ago. Not sure if that's the most challenging install I've been on, but ranks high in the most frustrating. Stepping in a fire ant pile wasn't too pleasant either. How about you? What's the most challenging installation you've been on.
  15. What are some of your most challenging installations you've been on? Being in the industry for nearly 20 years, I have no doubt in my mind this is an impossible installation. Nonetheless, it is a cool rendering. Keep an eye out for more.
  16. View a Syndicate Animation on Youtube. XLIX - Patriots or Seahawks? Keep an eye our for all of the various large format EGD, EMC, and grandiose signage. Stadiums always go big and bold and our industry is there each year, every game, every venue. For the win, I'm going to have to go with.... yup. Not opening that can of worms. Good luck to your favorite and good luck to mine. Have a great weekend, everyone! Joseph Check out UPCOMING INDUSTRY EVENTS! There's a total of 7 that we're interested in.
