I remember when it came out it looks like it was the coolest thing ever with the basket mounted boom and the other boom with the loadline or auger attachment. They where put on such small chassis though. I have never seen one in person or for sale.

I saw one at a sign show but have never known anyone that had one. Looked pretty cool at the show.

Baker was a body builder out of richmond Va. who sold Versa Lift and Aichi. The Aichi was a Japanese Made boom, and very good unit. The boom you are talking about was an Aichi Model that went to 60 ft and had the auger attacment. The Japanese used Mitsubuhi and Isuzu.( GMC cab overs) trucks I think Aichi has an office in Glen Berne Md.

I haven't been to a show for a while so I didn't know if they were still in business. Kind of a neat idea that I would like to try in a real world situation to see how well it performed.

I had a 2000 Izusu with an Aichi 85ft staright boom. It was a great truck. I sold it 6 years ago when we went strictly wholesale. I still see it going up and down the road today. 6 cyl auto, turbo with 4 out and down outriggers. It was under CDL, that was the great part.
