Check In Charge.............................$ 39.60

AND.....A whopping $ 55.20 per hour for 1 man and a 50 ft bucket truck

How nice. It's sort of like how Ventex tell YOU how much You should be charging for a retrofit and how their ROI model is so good the customer can make all the money back from the upfront cost in just a few short years because YOU didn't charge that much in YOUR labor.

Care to name the above for a good chuckle/shits and giggles? You can even PM me :paperbag:

Paul;

So how did the job turn out? I know you took it because it is good fill in work or they have always paid in the past, right?

Or maybe better, just add some extra money to cover you when they pay at 90 days or greater. Wait, i believe you said they laid out the entire pricing scheme so that probably didn't work.

On the serious side, I get these wonderful opportunities all the time but politely decline to accept. Most assuredly, Believable.

What is Unbelievable is that they get takers for this charade and I would even venture to guess that there are some on this venue, possibly reading this response, who will take the work because of the reasons I mentioned and who knowingly will ride that runaway train right over the broken tracks.........

Look at "The Hall of Shame" list and I will bet there are some on this board still taking work, still providing free credit, still getting bent over and then rationalizing why it was the right thing to do.

Best

I really have no reply that can make any sense to this companies offer . Are they serious ? Are they even on this planet ?

....Even the ones who jumped over, crawled under the fence or swam here would say NO WAY.

There will always be a sucker who will jump on this and think he made it big. Working for a major chain store.

I have always said I can sit at home watching TV and go broke. Why should I work my ass off to go broke?

Isn't that the truth. My grandfather who started this place had a saying very similar. "No need in being tired and hungry both". Some of these nationals floor me.

See it all the time. A large Natl., who I haven't worked with, but 2 times in 8 yrs. Has started sending me a lot of bid requests.. ( Red flag in my book. They either pissed off everyone else, or have them strung out on $$) . One came over the other day to do a full survey of an existing free standing large restaurant. All elevations, sign types and sizes, Pole sign, lamp-ballast count...You know the deal.. Fill out our paperwork, send individual pics, all for $150.00! Told them double it, and I'm still breaking even. They said, lets split the difference @ $200.00. Told them no thanks.

I've always said : I can be tired, hungry, and broke; or, I can be tired, hungry, and broke with calluses on my hands.

It doesn't make sense to work for someone for nothing.

Hey, mabye its an opportunity to acquire some service experience no one else will give you.

We have gone from flat out busy to dead in the water and back to flat out busy. Through all that even when I was paying employees to sweep the floor that they had just finished sweeping I would NEVER take that offer. Better to just go fishing with Sean.
