Got alerted of this quote and it made me chuckle.

"Having grown up in the sign business, and making it my occupation for the last 38 years, I was disappointed at the absence of neon related products at the Sign Expo, and the proliferation of printed images and LED boards."

What do you expect when people in YOUR association you belove and defend without fault does not, or has EVER openly promoted Neon to the public or within the industry, it's as if Neon never existed or allow it to be mis-characterized? When the very sign programs you yourself fabricate have been replaced from neon to LEDs by your very own hands. When there's no money to be made because of the mis-characterization of Neon over the yeeeaars, well.....there's no money for a manufacturer to throw down for a booth. So now you can visit it at the American Sign Museum instead!

Uhhhhhh...

Oh boy, that train left a LOOOnng time ago.

I don't know, a right to complain about it?

There is a strip mall that has every channel letter in exposed outline. Half of them don't light or are 1/2 out. Why? The building owners can't find any one who can fix them. So I gave him a few names of the companies that still service neon around here. As soon as the boss lady gets me a bucket truck or tow behind I'm going to go out and find ever neon sign I can that needs fixing and solicit the shop owners. Its a dying part of the industry for sure. It would help a lot if sign companies would stop lying about how much better LEDs are or that there is no way to fix neon and how it needs to be retro fitted.
