We will all say goodbye to our most elegant 1st lady this week where she will rejoin alongside Ronald physically at the Reagan Library. She brought her west coast old Hollywood elegance to the white house for the first time.

I was 7 years old when Ronald took office and I still remember the TV campaign ads and I remember knowing nothing but for some reason hoping he was the one that was going to win, just some instinct I suppose. In office I remember for some reason feeling at ease when I would see them on TV. Strange because during that time I was surrounded by so much negativity aimed at them by the news which was always on in my household, for whatever reason I didn't like to hear what they had to say and even years later while reading Mad Magazines those too were taking shots at our president but I was unswayed about my gut feelings

It wasn't until I was in the 6th grade my teacher would make us watch the morning news and he would discuss the world events and US politics. Wish this would take place in today's schools.

I'm glad my teacher would discuss with us what was going on, namely the cold war, but I had a very unique teacher and I was fortunate. He was the only person who talked positively of our President at the time and would go into the "why's" in regards to our President.

At any rate, the Reagan's always felt like Grandparents to me and they always made a very big impression on me at a young age where they were surrounded by so much negativity. I do remember at such a young age being inspire by his speeches on how great and exceptional America was.

One thing was always certain, Nancy was ALWAYS by his side and the love story of the background was very visible.

This event strikes a special more personal cord with me because currently my grandmother wants nothing more than to be with my grandfather.

I'm happy for Nancy that she's back along his side, where she should be.

You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life. - Winston Churchill
