  1. I was lucky enough to have Bill as a customer in previous position. Stand up guy, sorry to hear he has passed. Condolences to the Family and all the folks at Bill Moore and Associates, he will be missed. Dennis
  2. Interesting article, not too hard to believe most were from Craigs List http://www.sacbee.com/2013/10/11/5814454/contractors-license-board-sting.html
  3. Rich as a parting shot this is a very poor showing. I have belonged to many sign and screenprint associations, rarely do any of those in a true leadership position display such poor use of words. Reflect on who you are as a man and a leader, feel free to come back and explain yourself. You could have taken the high road (and did until you went off the rails with a personal attack) An apology is in order, are you up to it? ( And it really should be a wider apology than to just one, please include all those who know you are capable of better)
  4. Located in Santa Cruz CA? If so they are good folks, been around a long time. If another location I do not have any info to offer.
  5. Here is the GSP locator for USA Dealers: http://www.gspinc.com/default.asp?contentID=42 This is the GSP part number for the 30" perforated 300' long 20Lb pattern paper: P21965C
  6. Montroy, Denco and Interstate Electric are all multi branch operations and long time Gerber suppliers. These would be a good place to start for USA sources.
  7. I used to belong to Local 484, then merged into Local 510 here in Northern California. I have a withdrawel card but don't know it it is still valid or if I would ever use it. I did a bit of checking, Local 510 has 11 Sign Shops but 48 Display/Exhibit shops showing as Union. Here are just some of the Onsite Rules that drive people nuts for the Exhibit side of things: "The installation or dismantling of an exhibit requiring the use of hand tools, or which takes one exhibitor more than 30 minutes, or which is greater than ten feet in width, requires the hiring of labor from IUPAT Local 510. You may hire labor directly through your choice of an exhibitor appointed contractor such as Absolute I & D or through the general contractor. Full-time exhibitor personnel may lay out and assemble products that they manufacture. However, all other material (display boards, backdrops, stands, or anything else on which a product is displayed, attached, or made part of), must be handled by a union exhibit installer. This includes installing and removing of any flooring, and the uncrating and recrating of items using tools. Teamster Local 85 has exclusive jurisdiction over all freight brought or delivered to the show floor. The general contractor controls dock access, and may station a teamster at any entrance to enforce this regulation. Hotel personnel may deliver items to the edge of the show floor, but then must surrender all items to an exhibitor or a teamster for transport to the exhibit space. Teamster material handling equipment includes dollies, hand-trucks, pallet-jacks, forklifts, and genie lifts. Genie lifts, consequentially, may not be cost-effective here. One exhibitor may hand-carry his or her own materials into an exhibit facility only if such is small enough to be handled on one trip and without the use of wheels."
  8. MET is a customer so my input is not 100% on point regarding any switch from UL to MET. We are a Vendor only for them and from that perspective Met is great to work with and pays on time.

  10. OK - just what is this somnambulant ursine enigma you speak of?
  11. Happy Holidays back at ya - I see we are very close to your Union City CA location. Let me know if we can assist in any way for sheet plastics ( shameless plug ) Always nice to have choices when it comes to NTLs, hope your year ends on a positive upward curve!
  12. Hello Mary, please look over this article. http://www.dfeh.ca.g...ns/dfeh-161.pdf It will help you in your search for technicians based in California. Best of luck to you, Dennis
  13. Take a look at Arlon, Universal and Oracal. Also Gerber and Gregory have some colors 3M does not seem to have in their normal distribution stream. There are other Transluscent makers I have not mentioned. You may have to settle for whatever looks closest if these have been up for awhile. Have you asked the folks at Marshals for their sign program info?
  14. I am curious as to what they are saying specifically the Optix LD chemistry - Plaskolite would also be interested. The Optix LD is sold with Vinyl being one of the recommended ways to decorate the sheet - http://www.plaskolite.com/Fabrication/Acrylic/Decorating if there is something 'wrong' with the formula Plaskolite would like to know so they can fix it. Not sure the folks at Trim are going down the right path here.
  15. That is the challenge with material warranties - very seldom (if ever these days) will a Distributor or Factory pay for Labor. As you mentioned the replacement of the vinyl is just a small part of the overall job. Judging by the pictures the material does seem defective, very unusual for cast to do this. My guess is the Trim Accucut is a private label brand, not likely we will find out who the Factory is.
