Try Bill Young at Solid State Solutions 501 920 9456...they have some Edison base bulbs, mr16 and t12/8 replacements...a little pricy but in this instance it might be a good fit.

My brothers still have a working plant and are still doing a lot of repair work...not much new going out the door of thier shop though.

I've known Dino a long time and he'll do you right...you still out at Al's funhouse?

I have so many stories I thought about writing a book...but everyone who was in the business would already know all the stories so they wouldnt buy my book....a waste of time.
My favorite part is that they always look at you with such a blank stare when you catch them with their hand doing something wrong.
OMG aint that the truth. We should drink beer and just one up each other for a few hours...sometime soon we will be in the same place at the same time.

We have given up on China - too many years of learning how you can be screwed over isnt worth spending the time on.
What, you don't have the time to watch thier every move? Thats all it takes, watch them every minuet of every day in hopes that they still don't slip something by in broad daylight or something like that! There are a few places that are above board but not too many thats for sure.

Having lived and gone to school in Italy, done business for 20 years with Italian companies, I can tell you that the products will be good/solid/reliable - but really expensive.
Was funny
I could not agree more. European standards for quality are a little different than ours. We had Italian engineers working on our first systems and it was hilarious to listen to the arguments between a group of Italian engineers and Chinese engineers! :bitchin:

I had a request from am engineer to use an led from a company called "I N Led's" on a sign project. He can't produce a phone number and I don't see anything when doing a Google search. Any ideas??
Might be these guys...

It's just too bad Manuel didn't sign up until after he was gone.
No doubt...LOL

I'm sure you know that soda glass and lead free aren't the same things -----------. Soda glass is a completely different critter -- different fires, different techniques, alot more glass thrown against the wall --------------
Knew a couple of guys who tried to play with it. Europeans use it more I was told, not sure that is true though. The first supplier I worked for had it on the shelf for some reason. He was an old Motorola engineer and had all knids of crazy stuff on the shelf.
-
One reference said Osram is done with lead by the end of year.
gn
C'mon, you love bending soda glass!
-
Throw large --- 18 - 22mil glass at a normal bender and see what comes out of the fires?? I mean look at the 15mil stuff that sucks. Takes more time, more heat, more control ---- and many were brought up on cold bending --------- and that's also why many have issues with lead free glass. If its ALL straight ----maybe? Heck just putting an 18mil trode on 22 mil glass in the fires is an issue ------------- unless just a hand torch is used--and that is iffy in itself.
But, maybe, the shops that I've visited were just sub-par ??? Heck, ever notice how many benders quit bending when a visitor pops in their shop ???
And as for putting it in the next cabinet ------ GREAT idea !!!
gn
I agree with Gary, there is a ton of crap CC out there. Most neon benders go to school and learn how to bend 8mm, so when they get 20 or 25mm in thier hands they don't have a clue. Maybe its a midwest thing. Ever since Whiteway has stopped with its corner the market approach to signs with cold cathode instead of standard tubes in the Chicago market there isn't as much need for it around here...Time is money in the tube room and like Gary said you better be damn patient...

But Mayor Dave Golonski,...
“I think it’s a distraction, and that is the whole reason we prohibited LED in the first place.”
IDIOT. Don't think meat you'll just hurt the team...don't bother checking into all the studies that have proved this to be bullshit either as it's easier to just follow your rules. I'm sure his eye doctor buddy has a wealth of sign and advertising legal experience though, great way to support the argument...

Burglers rejoyce!

Boy I'm getting nowhere on this one. YESCO says they are not going to be doing plastics anymore. Everbrite seems to be buying up imagepoints Mcdonald's inventory that was left and is in some kind of limbo? Seems that after talking to some people the plasti-line files for the older McDonlad's signs from image point have vanished and no one knows who has them.
Have you guys heard any of this stuff?
Bunch of old Image Point people at The Principle Group, have you tried them?
-
Who realy knows?? Good meeting though, seemed like there might be an interest --------- so time'll tell.

Marty sure stays busy, I hope it works out for you Gary...

I wonder what this means for other LED boarder tube producers, is neoneon now out of luck or at risk for importing thier products...The old ilight was cool but delaminated in the cold weather. I know they fixed that but I wonder what other patents will affect all the other guys? Manuel, I know you said you would never get into that part of the buisness again, nor would I, but do you have a reaction?
