  1. You coming to Vegas ? Love to put a face to this rabble rouser - and meet you.

    gn

Not this year. I keep hoping that they will have a meet in FLor somewhere by the coast! I save most of my time away from the office for fishing safaries....Rabble Rouser? were you referring to me :draw2wc: or Eric :big_boss: ? :lol_hitting:

  2. Actually no, it was before and when I thought subbing it out was legal. I thought this was legal because one of my formal employers did it. Imagine that! That's called learning the wrong way

Have you considered turning yourself in to the authorities? I think dog the bounty hunter provides bail bond service in your area. :coffee1:

Too late, already got busted a LOOOOooooooonnnng time ago. Went in front of the judge, he made me obtain a license or go to jail. So I went from illegal to "going legit" as Johnny Dangerously put it. Got my C-45 at 22, pretty cool huh? I guess had I known I was doing it illegally I should have just obtained one prior.

For your well being, you really should stop running with scissors in your mouth. :scratchhead:

Just out of curiosity, how did you get busted? Did the signs you've built and installed prior to getting your C-45 spontaneously combust? :rock_band:

I do fine on my own taking care of myself, my family, my business and my well-being on my own. Can you even have pointy scissors in California? :headbang:

  4. My very first pattern as being self employed for my first channel letter set was done on a projector by a sign painter. It was for a Boll Weevil restaurant.

Just curious, were you a licensed contractor at the time? :smiley2eatingpopcorn:

I still have all of my lettering quills, but it's been years since I used them. I still have the projector but don't remember the last time I plugged it in. I still use the electric pounce on really big water tower patterns and practical jokes in the shop. About the thing I use most from the old days is black pounce powder, for weeding white vinyl.

  5. Happy birthday man!!! Got anything special planned? :birthday:

Thanks, Just another day at the office.

I'll be out ice diving again on Saturday. We are having a heat wave and it's supposed to be 30°! Did manage to get some fishing in the end of January down in the Florida Keys, that was sure nice change. I could leave the chainsaw at home

  6. I am in CO and live very close to LetterFab. I can't vouch for them - yet. I can say the other major player in CO is Direct Sign Wholesale. Don't use them! I learned that the hard way.

Direct sign is a gamble. Sometimes they deliver, other times problems. Serious lack of communication with no follow up on problems. They get you pricing back quick, but don't read the specifics. Most of the time they underestimate the amount of LEDS. Make sure to double check your bid specifics or you will pay more later. I am switching back to US Signs in FL. Quality product and good communication.

  7. Hourly here also. We try to combine trips to some of the areas we service regularly, so everyone pays only a portion of the "trip fee". Usually no one has issues with it.

the only downside to that is if you have to service the sign at a different time and can't combine the trips. We typically have a three hour minimum.

  8. Who was that directed to? Because they both sell direct.

Damn, I keep forgetting to send Jeff an email, it's on my LIST!

    lumifficient

Since they are about 50 miles away. As a rule of thumb, I typically don't use suppliers that are also competition. Unless of course they have the best product at a competitive price, then I try not to mention client contact information.

  9. Manueal,

Finally, price was not the determining factor in Starbucks. You can float all of your posturing statements here, which you and nobody here have any way of verifying, but I was the person who personally has met with Starbucks on numerous occasions for their program, and you are totally off base.

    All the Best,

    Jeff

are you selling directly to the end user?

  11. At the WSSC show I had three groups of people of whom I've never met, see my badge praise the site and tell me that they always laugh at certin posts and that they found a lot of it entertaining.

I should have asked but never did ask which they were. I wonder if this is one of them. :focus:

At least the site can't be accused of being, dull :Lets_do_it_wild::hump9:

    I'm pretty sure it wasn't Daktronics.......:whistling:

Thanks for the welcome back, chubby

I had to much work to follow the drama yesterday.

Signtific did you used to Einsign?

Where the hell you been man? I thought a whale might have swallowed you :gdmornincoffee:

ever since they changed the forum to this new format. Every time I logged on, it would shut down. I thought maybe Daktronics was aboard the vendor and was remotely accessing my computer through the forum :laughing1:. or worse yet, based on my weapons stance the government was monitoring me again........I had to unplug for a while, get off the grid. If you know what I mean.

  13. So as 2010 progresses, good things are in the works for YYZ Systems. We're in the early stages of setting up a US facility that will stock and distribute our products - along with some assembly - and we're on the lookout for people to join our team. Likely to be in Orange County and cover primarily the southwestern US, and dabble elsewhere.

Positions that may appeal to readers of this forum are as follows:

    - Sales - Sign products

    - Sales - Lighting products

    - Production/operations manager

Ideally we'll be able to put together a small but efficient team of people that know the market and can hit the ground running. Experience in the sign and/or lighting industries is ideal, and ability to travel and generate new leads and accounts is also key. We want driven people that do not want a ceiling on their income. Salary & commission to be negotiated based on experience.

Please submit your resume or an introductory letter to me personally - ALL communications will be held in strict confidence.

    Thanks,

    Marko Hajdinovic,

    President, YYZ Systems Inc.

Will I be able to carry my concealed scissors? :laughing1: Any branches in the keys?sprt%20%2841%29.gif

  14. My site uses the most current software for a message board and has issues with outdated browsers.

What browser & version are you using?

    [/quot

I am not sure. I am still running a windows XP. I think it's Internet explorer. My computer locks up almost every time I try to get on the site. Until I figure it out, Can you start a thread for me about multiple colored Halo lettering. I have a client that has two different colors of lettering in their name blue and green.
