  1. Hi - We are looking to start an ongoing relationship with a freelance vinyl wrap installer we can send to job site to wrap vehicles and some interior graphics.

We do have a project (short notice) on 9/15 that was booked for another installer but has dropped out.

Please contact me if you are interested 914-384-7929, info@hudsonsignco.com

Work is located within the NY, NJ and CT area.

  2. I wish NY was a right to work state. Would make a lot of work we approach a lot simpler. There are a lot of building in NYC that are controlled by union labor. Luckily a lot of them don't list signs as a trade for exterior maintenance. But we do pass up on a lot of interior work because of that.

We were doing a phototex wall in a hospital a few months ago and there were wall plates for outlets that had to come off. One of my installers was barked at as he was taking out a screwdriver to take the plates off. We had to wait for a union electrician to come see what had to be done, issue a work order and then remove 6 plate covers. When the job was done and client was happy all that was left was to reinstall plate covers. Client wanted to see them on before my guys walked out. Electrical department needed an hour before they could send someone down. My guys called me and I told them to go ahead and put them back on. What a nightmare!!!!

  3. Well I told Paul I would post pics and it's been a few months at this point!! Ended up picking up a unit from NESCO for a great price and great condition. Lettered it, built the rack and put her to work. Coming from an old non articulating pony motor bucket this is NIGHT and DAY!! I don't know how I got where I am today without a boom like this. It's been a short time but any time I find myself in a situation where I need to go another 2 feet over, or higher...it has the reach. Where as the old Telsta we got rid of, you'd have to go down, move the truck and go back up. Extremely happy with this unit thus far.

  4. We have a project on a storefront similar to the one below. We need to install a sign and awning over areas that the only place to attach to would be the aluminum mullions. Sign panel is light so I think Tek screws will be substantial. My concern is the awning. Since the mullions are hollow considering using toggles. Anyone run into a situation like this?

  5. Just lease a nice double basket like pauls trucks or an elliott like mine. Worry free and make some money. Unless its a part time business. 1-2 jobs a month and lease is covered. I wasted so much time with used trucks. Cost more to keep them alive. When the mechanic cant get to it for a week because parts are not available you lose too much money.

i hear you. we are dumping our 97 ford because it is wasting us time and money. right now looking for a stepping stone to the lease or big purchase. the truck goes out once or twice a week usually, but this winter the service and install has been slow so makes it difficult to justify a purchase even though in the long run the overall year is good. the $2+k a month is a tough nut to swallow when you've basically had a truck for free. our last truck only cost $7k!!!!

  6. You are showing two different trucks here. The bodies and buckets are different. If the boom flips completely over on it self, you can get a straight arm longer reach.

You need to know your sign area and what will work for you.

Just looking at your photos, the trucks look pretty worn out with a fast paint job

yes they are two diff trucks. deff are used, but a step up from what we currently have, our 97 ford fsuper duty telsta!

    yes boom flips out completey.

  7. I'll throw this option in. Pictured below seems like a cross between the two. Saw this on signweb, may or may not still be for sale. But curious about something like this as well. I know basket can stay on during transport, so it may work as a hybrid service truck as well. Thoughts? I know from experience trying to shove too many responsibilities onto one tool will leave you coming up short, but hey, any chance to stretch a dollar ;)
