  1. I had a similar experience happen to me a few years ago at a outside mall in Ocala FL. We were installing a set of CL's and a under canopy sign when the stucco ceiling came falling down around us! It didnt even start where we were working but to the left of us......the ceiling peeled away like a banana, turned the corner and keep going for about 200 ft. All the undercanopy signs went through the storefronts of about 6 stores. After it fell I took photos of the 1/2" STAPLES holding the mesh on the joists......1/2" STAPLES!!!!!! The contractor was held accountable for all damages and no one was injuried thank goodness.

  5. Yes, they typically come in 3 waves. The Housing market was the first wave and now the Commercial Real Estate market will be next.

The last wave will be Credit Card default which is looming and will have a major impact on the banking industry.

I’m no economic expert and I hope that I am wrong on what will happen next.

I’m glad to hear the “Cash 4 Clunkers” program is doing so well. Hopefully we can endure these tough times and make it through to a better future.

Here in SW Florida the Commercial Real Estate properties have been in a major decline for over a year already. The strip Malls are empty and they are building more???? Makes no sense. The major Malls are losing tenants at a alarming rate too. Think we are ahead of the National curve.....unfortunately!

  6. did you not see the permit before you shipped the sign? The companies we do installs for will not even go to production until the permitting phase is completed.

I am terrible sorry that this has happened to you but I have to agree with Chubby about not shipping till you get the permit copy in hand. Did you say that you have already paid your installer? As a Install Coordinator for a National Company I always pay 50% up front then wait to pay the balance after I have recieved the survey/photos, permit, final inspection and invoice/final photos...........This avoids all problems. Good luck!

  7. Linda gave me the run around, wouldn't give me a straight story, then I emailed an angrygram to Seth S (and everyone else on the ISD website), and Seth emailed me back saying please don't lien, and like an idiot I believed him, and then it was too late to lien and I believe I have learned a valuable lesson!

I hear that Seth (formerly the CFO at ISD) is working at Harley Davidson now! I hope Will has made arrangments to lose the baggage with the Snake family 3.............Linda is nice though.
