  1. I hear ya, variance meetings, Historic pres meetings all BS.  Did a H&R BLOCK for Montclaire, NJ. Made it through HPC, Then Variance then building then had all approvals from all levels and landlord and when tried to install the F'n Condo committee stopped the install and only allowed a banner, some times all the hoops are not worth it.

  2. What about the 108, 117 and 120's. You dont got them, you are returning. F96 you get get from any Home Depot or Lowes which in part of the country is every 10 miles down the street. Make a aluminum box ( that can be removed when needed) for the longer lamps and put it in the bed, your 6ft'r can be strapped to the side of the bed on the boom side along with the 8ft but 6 foot is for interior window graphics or for short peeps like me to reach the top strap.

Definately get some little giants. I,m not allowed on them as it cost me 2 screws in my ankle but still love them.

You want a good service truck listen to Paul. He knows all about service and is set up for it. Oh did I mention Listen to Paul ??

  3. "Very few reputable companies like GE and others, don't even want to be in it any longer, they would rather be in general lighting. Why?"

I can answer that. If I remember correctly I think I even posted it here many moons ago. When I was on the OEM side of the fence. The companies like GE and OSRAM got into the sign LED scenerio as a beta site to conduct life tests, applications and the likes in actual settings to "perfect" thier modules for where the real money is. Why do you think they changes the systems so frequently?? Do you think they really had the sign guys intrest at the top of the priority list. Can you get the older modules or anything that was ousted when the next evolution rolled in. If they had the best intrest they would keep a stock of older systems like GM or any car manufacturer keeps parts available.

    Just my .02

  4. Experience is the biggest Key to a great team. Best suggestion is to take your employees for a "field trip" on the weekend on their time. If they want the position they will donate their time. Take them to different locations let them show and tell about the location, the build out, the design. You will then see what they know and what they don't and maybe you have an employee that should be a estimator not a designer, maybe you will see that you have one that is clueless and not worth investing time in.

  5. David,

If you swap the bed and boom look into raising the bed on the frame and using the lifted area as storage for stock. You can keep full length material and it's out of the way. Just pull it straight out from the back when you need it. My friend did that years ago and thought he was crazy but when we needed a 10ft piece of angle, Bingo, there it was.
