  1. You have no way to open the faces huh? and grind off the pole weld points?

The footing looks small and thin, I bet you can dig a little around the footing and probably wiggle the signs off if your only down 2'

This is also where a rotohammer can help you out in jack hammer mode if you have to chip the cement off to get the pole out of the footing too if need be

Yeah I'm going to see if I can grind off the welds first. If that don't work then I'll try to bust the footing. Last I will cut the pole.

This is crazy hard pan we dug in. it took us 2 hours to dig one hole. the other hole is in aggregate and I know I can get the footing out of that however aggregate sucks because it fills in like sand.

  2. So the locations are right, you just put in the wrong signs?

To me 24" deep is not deep enough for one (of course I am in Illinois and I am sure the frost lines are different from here to there). Second, I would think by the time you go rent the cutter, get it to the site you would already have the signs out of the ground and probably with most of the concrete off (would you really even need to break off the concrete or could you just make the hole wider and screw in several tap cons into the existing concrete to attach to the new? Never tried it myself but it seems that it should work just fine for as small as the signs are.)

Who screwed up anyway, you or the customer?

Me, & The print company who printed the directory sign

We were told to remove the prints that showed where the sign went so they could be reprinted correctly and so we put them where the signs said it's just they were wrong orientation and with out the prints in the can we ended up marking the signs wrong for install.

I should have double checked with the Project Manager but I did not and they ended being wrong. My bad but we will make it good for the customer.

  3. Two days ago we installed 4 Directories for a Condo Project. 2 of signs are 3'x4' and 2 are 4'x3'.. Basicly we put two sign in the wrong Opposing spots and they need to be switched. The signs are made of aluminum and have a 4" pole with a 24" Deep x 8" to12" Wide footing.

My question is should I rent a pipe cutter and cut the pipes, Switch the signs and weld the sign back on. OR Dig up the footings and switch the signs. The cement is 48 hours old and I'm thinking I can split the footing, pull the signs out and switch them and drill a hole in the base to put in a spin tab and re cement. the signs as I received them did not have a spin tab at the bottom so they may be able to come out of the cement.

    Any Ideas?

  4. What happened to the RS you posted a while back?

the RS was not as clean as I wanted. I also Looked at 3 Ducati 748's and 2 916's and then this beauty came along! The Duc's had way too many maintenance issues and I rode this 636 and it just felt like my last race bike. I also picked this bike for $4500.. a steal of a deal for a $5800 bike. The old owner was a chick and she had all the maintenance records and did every maintenance on time.

I Love this thing It's so f'ing light I can wait to get her on the track to see what she can do.

  5. I have used Fellers for a while now and I have had some problems with them packaging up 48" rolls of vinyl. I just let the CSR know they need to pack the shit correctly or I'm sending it back. They have great prices on some things but you need to watch it on others like the 3M Crystal is almost $100 per 48"x10 yard roll over priced. There prices are hit and miss and if you don't watch it you can get hosed on some items. Over all there a good company to get some stuff from.

  6. This summer there may be a trip back to San Diego again to hang for a few days... A week in Monterey with the family followed by a few more days in Monterey for the US GP races with the homeis .. I will be testing my new toy at Button Willows and Thunder Hill, & with any luck there may be a track day open up at Laguna Seca for more fun. Oh yeah there is that f'ing work thing too... ahhhhhh..

  7. yers property rights greater than our second ammendment!! So I guess now company owners can guarantee our security while traveling to and from the office now, eh?

I hope Florida isn't slowly turning into another California or Pennsylvania... if so, I'm moving!!

:laughing1: Just because I live in CA and it is the first socialistic state in the union does not make it a bad place to live! The weather here is awesome :beach: ! and just think our gov is Arnold Schwarzenegger :rambo: ?????? Other states have better laws but Cali is where it's at! Besides as long as I can have a gun with bullets I'm OK :draw2wc:

  8. Man that sucks! My mom's house almost burnt down back in the 80's from grass fires... our back yard was gone, burnt black as the night sky.... I was home from school and put sprinklers on our roof before the fire go to our house. Lucky for us the fire department came to our house just before the fire got there but the back yard got fried...

Any way best wishes and stay safe.

  9. I'm in need of a Break and a shear.. I just signed an $8k contract for some office signs and I want to buy a small break/shear combo... If I recall there is a ~60" 3 in one unit available some ware I think??? All I need to do is bend some 2"x8"x.040g aluminum to 90º but also shear them first too. I am just tired of going out and bothering people because I need one f'ing part bent or cut, so i figure now that I am going to need about 75 of these made i't a good excuse to buy a new toy or two.
