    In Jane's defense she did help me with some parts for my printer.. and did a great job....

    However I do feel she should sponsor an add and become a merchant member if she want so sell product only.. It would be nice if she contributed to the forum with advice about printing or just added in conversation other than a sales pitch..

    Congratulations, Derf! I'd be more excited if I knew what you were talking about. SG has touched on these licenses before, but no such thing is needed in the 3 states we do most of our work in. I've always heard that California is generally considered the "Father of all state laws", which means sooner or later, we'll be seeing these kinds of restrictions (and, yes, that's what I believe they are) in our area.

    What generally did you have to go through to get to this point in your quest? What topics does the Sign Installation Test cover? And, what does the 10K bond cover? That seems like peanuts. And how much is this license going to cost? That's all.

    Basically I had to learn about Lien law and how to legally contract in the state of CA.. In the state of CA it is illegal to improve or modify real property with out a contractors Lic. For any job over $500. You must also get a $12,500 Contractors bond, Finger printed, proof workers Comp. Insurance or exemption.

    The test pretty much covered Lien Law, Arbitration law, CAL-OSHA Health & safety, Business Management, & how to make sure every local government agency can dip its hands in your pocket and how to pay their fees on time!

    Now can I build a Sign????? Who the hell knows! they did not test me on that! :stinker:

    I have all the study books on the C-45 electrical sign lic. And it has a lot of math and electrical parts and more safety stuff. They just want to make sure when you fry :shocked: your self or kill some one your covered with workers comp or a bond!

    Just passed my C-61 Sign Installation test! got an 86% :yahoo:

    Now I just need to get a 10k bond and some finger prints, then wait for the SCLB to get me my Lic# then i can realy jack some shit UP! :jackhammer::construction:

    Now I :beerparty: Because I have been studying for like 3 months! my head still hurts!

    Damn that was qucik :draw2wc:

    You turn 2 switches "on" and leave 1 switch "off" and wait about a minute. Then enter the room, but just before you enter, turn one switch from "on" to "off". Once in the room, feel the lightbulb - if it is warm, but off, it has to be the last switch you turned off. If it is on, it has to be the switch left on. If it is cold and is off, it has to be the switch you left in the off position.

    we've got some local :spam: jackasses too! None of the above would be fine with me. :paperbag:

    Also if all the measures passed around here our sales tax would be like 9% :bitchin: and the poor slaps who smoke would pay $2.61 more for a pack of smokes! on top of the $5-6 they are now! GD I don't smoke any more but I do not feel we should just tax the hell out of somthing just because some most of the population don't smoke. Then Beer will be next :beerchug: I'm not down with that!

    Then they want to raise property taxes for schools! or should I say a fat pay raise for administrators or some stupid think tank group. The schools got a spending :pillepalle: problem! not an income problem.

    Almost every thing on the ballet was raise this TAX or Buy this bond! Damn!!! can CA get a grip on its spending! :fight (11):

    The only bond I voted for was to improve roads and Leaves because ( IF ) :ash: the money goes to that then at least half of Sac may not flood :sprt (41): when the rains come.
