  1. Looking for some ideas...

We are constructing many small non-illuminated direct bury cabinets for a local home builder. We are using aluminum "U" channel for the legs and then want to attach max metal faces to them. We want to use max metal because it comes in a prefinished color that works for our need and is it more cost effective than aluminum.

We are looking a glue or epoxy that would work. I don't think that the max metal (DiBond like product - PVC with Aluminum skin) can be welded.

We want to have a clean appearance on the faces (i.e., no visible fasteners).

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks,

    Paul

  2. Thanks Mark! I always enjoy your posts! I used to live in Grapevine in a prior career life and do truely miss it from time to time.

The cable was just replaced and we will most likly be using it 75% of the time as a crane and not so much with man on basket. Thanks for the capacity info as i have not been able to find that. Did talk to someone today at The Crane Center in Mansfield Oh (just about 1 hr from me) and they actually still work on them... that is good for us!

  3. We are looking at getting a "new to us" crane truck.

We have come across an older model 115' Sky Hook mounted to a freightliner. We dont need one for every day (at this point) but we are growing and having to hire others with bigger lifts to help more and more often.

Question is, I can't seem to find the manufacturer for the sky hook units. Am I to assume that they are no longer in business??? From my limited research, it appears that there are two crane truck companies here in Ohio that work on them and stock parts. However, if they no longer exist does that mean that parts are harder and harder to find?

Another question, how is the reliability and use of the SkyHook units overall?

Thanks in advance for any help/info on the topic.

  4. We have a 42' Arm Lift mounted to a cab over Isuzu with full service body. The boom has a small knuckle for the lower section and the top section does telescope out. Been very Happy with the unit and it will do about 80% of the jobs we get. Great as a service type truck for us. This one replaced a 30' altec that ran from the side mounted generator. Miss having the generator but not the height limitation that we had.
