  3. Yea & these guys had the nerve to call us last week about completing a job in our area. The guy claims that they have to pay on our time schedule due to a court order & sends me a open T&M purchase order to do the work. When he called back & I told him that the only we would do any work for him was he would need to pay 100% up front & the check clear the bank first before we would even start the job.We havent heard anything back & I dont suppose we will.Heck I still have a note on my wall thats a reminder that they took (6) months just to pay for a little service call we did for them awhile back.Man some of these guys really just make me sick !!!!!

  4. We received a call from a company called BBK & they claim that they are working for General Motors to settle any Image Point jobs done for General Motors. After sending them copys of the GM work that we had done we have received a call back form them offering .50 cents om the dollar. We are still checking into this firm before we give them an answer.Anybody received a call from these guys yet ?

  5. Your right , We have been doing business with some of these companys for over 18 years & sure we have had to call them every now & then to remind them about the money they owed but we have almost always been paid & we would then continue doing the jobs for them even though it would be 120 days for them to pay.It has always seamed to work out in the long run because some (very few) pay in 30 & others in 60-90 days. But then again what do I know Ive only been doing this since the mid 70's.

  6. Its really a strange thing with these national sign companys like the ones Punkybones mentioned above because with a few of those named we have always been paid in a timely matter & in fact one of them even overnights the check for the completed job 2-3 days after completion. But I have also read on this site & others about how other sign companys dont get paid by these guys. Now as for Imagepoint everyone that has done work for them well knows that the rule of thumb for payment with them for the last 5 years or so has been a minium of 120 days & they have always made that clear.Even back when they were Plastiline it was at least 90 days.So if you wanted to do jobs for them you know what your getting into.I say somewhere today that they are now offering 10-30 cents on the dollar to installers that they owe money to.So anyone that is owed money you will either have to take the offer or fight it out in court with them.Very sad indeed.

  7. We are having the salesmen doing more of the door to door local sales & are seeing some positive results. We are by no means in a critical situation so far but we have noticed a little more than usual slowdown since the first of the year & we are getting a plan together if for some reason the economy gets even worse.Better to have a plan of action ahead of time than after its to late.Hopefully things will get back to normal & I know they will but what we dont know is how long it will be.

  8. Down here in South Texas we have seen quite a bit of slow down since Jan 09.We are starting to see some store closings in our area.We have cut back to 4-day weeks in hope of keeping all employees on this time.If it get any worse we will probably need to lay a few employees off to make ends meet.We have bid quite a few upcoming projects in our area but I think alot of people are holding off on moving foward with them at this time.So we are trying to brace for the worst & hope for the best.We were also burned by Imagepoint for 32k which does not help things.

  9. Dont know exactly what part you are needing, but another one that has some Skyhook parts laying around is River City Hydraulics in San Antonio Texas ( http://rivercityhydraulics.com ) Phone #210-472-2123.Dont know if they will have what you need but might be worth the phone call to find out.I do know they have some used Skyhooks that they are parting out.Hope this helps.

  10. We also had no luck finding them in our area.We order them from Starrett Co. out of Athol,Massachusetts (978)249-3551 & they are shipped thru J.W.Donchin Co. out of Chicago IL. (773)261-2865.They usually ship UPS or FedEX & have been a reliable source for us.We mainly use them for drilling through tile mostly in mall letter installs. The 1" we buy is part #D0100 HO/S,1" Diamond.Havent had to purchased any in a couple of years.Hope the phone # is still a valid one.

  11. YES FISHING NUT I DO HAVE ONE OF THEM ("WIFE") WHICH IS ACTUALLY THE REAL "BOSS" & SHE HAS SOME OF THOSE SAME CONCERNS "GUARANTEED CHECK WEEKLY THINGS". I CAN UNDERSTAND THAT & MAYBE I WILL NEED TO KEEP THE CURRENT DAY JOB FOR AWHILE & SET ME UP SOMETHING (NEON PLANT)AT HOME FOR THE AFTER WORK & WEEKEND JOBS UNTIL I CAN PROVE TO THE "BOSS" THAT IT CAN BE DONE ON OUR OWN IF YOU REALLY WANT TO MAKE IT HAPPEN & I DO BELIVE I CAN & WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN

  12. YEA IM IN A SITUATION NOW AND HAVE BEEN FOR THE LAST 16 YEARS CALLED WORKING FOR THE FAMILY BUSINESS (SON IN LAW) & IT CAN GET QUITE STRESSFULL TO SAY THE LEAST IN THIS TYPE OF SITUATION & I AM GETTING TO THE POINT AS TO WHERE I WANT MORE & THERE IS ALOT MORE TO BE HAD IN MY AREA.IM MAINLY INTERESTED IN THE SERVICE / MAINTANCE AREA OF THE SIGN INDUSTRY.THE GROWTH IN THIS AREA HAS BEEN TREMENDOUS & IS PERDICTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT 12-15 YEARS & WAS JUST TOYING AROUND WITH THE IDEA OF POSSIBLY GETTING SOMETHING OFF THE GROUND & GOING.
