  1. Guys - I applaud your comments and opinions - but drive down the street in your towns and tell me how many big name fast food places there are - most are franchises. While a lot of people on this site are independent and like running their own companies "their way" - the reason why it will probably work for YESCO is because they are very successful and have a recipe that works. So essentially and metaphorically - "a lot of people while drive thru their restaurant". People like something familiar and if YESCO spends the right amount of time and money they can become the household name. Please remember that YESCO is the company that builds a large share of the digital billboards on USA highways - dont you think they are very well positioned to become a name people recognize by being an advertisement on the signs they rent to end billboard/advertising companies???? Or think for a minute on how you would compete with a YESCO sign company down the street from your shop that has material pricing that is about 30-50% less than yours? Do not forget folks that N Glantz and YESCO are very very close. N Glantz has offices in YESCO buildings in Las Vegas! So if YESCO extends their low pricing agreements they have with N Glantz to their franchises - wouldnt that be interesting? Big companies, or the largest ones in their sectors, have a lot of leverage and can move in like a Walmart and give smaller business a lot to worry about. Just because you dont like it does not mean it is not going to be something that doesnt work. I always use the analogy - the world was once flat, but boy did someone change our minds. I applaud YESCO for doing this... and having seen some of the service systems they have in place, my bet (and I live in Las Vegas and do not gamble) is that they will win...
  2. Operates of 24vdc class 2 UL power supply - no fires there. Short circuit limited, heat limited, etc Will be offering lot of sizes and options. Our parts are comparable to HO.
  3. They are doing stuff in places all over the world folks - Poland, France, New Zealand, UK, Canada, Italy...all over the USA. Keep in mind they play in Las Vegas - it is the most stringent code compliance requirements of anywhere in the world! Have you seen their outdoor LCD TV? It is awesome.
  4. Would someone "give up their existing sign company" to become a YESCO sign company/franchise? Seems like it would be a huge boost for a talented small company wanting to expand.
  5. Why dont you call Josh Young at YESCO and ask him to chime in here... they are all very approachable at YESCO.
  6. Someone asked if this will be part of UL new Retrofit Classification or UL1598C (new standard) - yes, it will...when they get their act together!!!
  7. Pricing online http://store.axiomled.com/T8_LED_Tube_p/at48l24v50.htm
  8. AxiomLED has announced the introduction of its new LED tube for North America - http://www.axiomled.com/AxiomLED/News/Entries/2011/5/20_AxiomLED_Introduces_T8_LED_Tube_for_North_America.html
  9. we have a 24ft projector TV - powered by good old halogen!!!
  10. Actually it appears they are going to "give it a go" because their products are performing so badly in the industry. Just take a look at the Great White Hope and Tighty Whitey tutorials - they are doing horrible! From the names mentioned it looks like it is an issue with something in one of their 3 other fields and not the sign industry. Pretty sure Sharp, Toshiba and Feit do not make sign products. CAO uses the same LEDs in those other products - buy an expensive LED lit TV - it will only fade about 40% in 2 years!!! Isnt that high value????

  12. But lets all agree - if we went to their country we would be respectful of them - we would be in their country. I guess I dont understand when people want the liberties we are afforded here in the USA but they cannot give up on their values of their old homeland. My mom is a foreigner, from Spain, and she taught us to be respectful of wherever you are and more importantly to respectfully be American to foreigners. People forget that if you take a dog from one country to another country - they will still walk up to each other, smell each others' business, wag tails - and be civil. We have a thing or two to learn from animals. Hell - my dog learned to urinate on marine wharf cleat instead of a tree - thats what they had where we lived. I didnt tell them to grow some damn trees because the American was in town.
  13. I am seeing more and more that companies are listening to my crazy ideas of expanding thru partnerships and subcontracting... Do any of you subcontract artwork or content generation and design services?
  14. This bugs me so bad... when I travel to other countries I respect their cultures...and the same back the other direction. I would have dropped my drawers and taken a dump in front of him and then said - "If you think Americans are crappy - I wanted you to have the full experience. And if you really want I can rub it in your face the way you put your cultural norms on our society" Respect is a mutual sentiment... not one side. Kirstie - that really sucks for you to have gone thru that!!
  15. You and One other- next time you are here we will go
  16. Every McD in New Zealand looks like this - still the same place
  17. I offered to take a bunch of you to this while you were at ISA - and only one old timer from Canada was interested. My friends at YESCO were insulted when I told them this. It is a great experience.
  18. Ok, now I have completely seen enough... I learned a long time ago from my Buddhist business partner that Karma is a journey... we must go through the road of our negative crap before it turns and goes the other way. So I have had enough of N Glantz. I am tired of being negative - it is rather unproductive. I exchanged an intelligent and entertaining and quite smart dialogue with a top member of N Glantz membership and they said that they couldnt type on their Blackberry as fast as I could on my iPhone...so they were going to go sell LEDs. It was a great and valid response. I am done bashing N Glantz. I respect what they have done and think they have a pretty brilliant approach in a down market - we have all indirectly and directly benefitted from them keeping the market moving despite the economic pressures. So with that - "Cheers to N Glantz, my negative journey is over, I applaud your success"
  19. I was in Lafayette Louisiana - at the big Mexican restaurant there was a disco band playing 70s rock music - songs were great, atmosphere a bit bizarre!! Viva Mexico in Cajun country
  20. I will keep my mouth shut - there will be many more like this
  21. I call it like it is in life - at least you always know where you stand with me You are a competitor Marko and I have no problem with you at all - you are smart, genuine, etc
  22. We seemed to have offended N Glantz - oh well - was meant to be fun
  23. Well nobody seems to know how to laugh or have fun - I think we do a good job of making fun of ourselves. Larry Market at N Glantz saw that we posted our "Cheap Value Products" video on the Sign Syndicate and was Offended by it. My personal and sincere apologies. We did try and meet with Larry and N Glantz a few times prior to our debut of the video to let them know we were doing it in jest and humor and even offered an invitation for them to come to our party. They did not come to the scheduled meetings or our party - I tried. We did modify our video and if you were at our party and do know Larry Market (770.331.1291 or 770.419.9517 or lmarkert@nglantz.com) of N Glantz can you all let him know that it was just trying to lighten up the group and to laugh and have fun. Somebody on the party bus did send it to him - didnt you tell him it was just for fun!!! Because the rest of the night was so serious....right!!!!?? I have a lot of respect for N Glantz and what they do... too bad Davey Glantz and Larry Markert could not meet with us to bring a very High Value low cost product like AxiomLED to the market. We updated the video - please see it here **********
  24. Mushy? Nope - its' called "free love" - and poor Kirsten had to put up will all of us. gn That is what Anita kept saying.
