  1. Linda gave me the run around, wouldn't give me a straight story, then I emailed an angrygram to Seth S (and everyone else on the ISD website), and Seth emailed me back saying please don't lien, and like an idiot I believed him, and then it was too late to lien and I believe I have learned a valuable lesson!
  2. In WA state it's mandatory to have L&I insurance unless you are a sole proprietor. Or if you are big like Safeway or Boeing, you can "self insure" and skip the hassle.
  3. And today Kevin Johnson / Image point emailed me with: We are taking RiteAid to Bankruptcy Court. We expect to file it and get a ruling in the next 30 days.
  4. I've been sending all my unsolicited crap faxes to a place in Florida, who does the paperwork and sues if the crapfaxers don't stop. I have seen a dramatic drop in crap faxes. I might even get $50 from one of them!
  5. Washington State has Labor & Industries - our version of workers comp. Our premiums are about 25K for 12 employees. I do believe safety programs work, but L&I is way over the top. Two examples: They made an ergonomics law a few years ago that had such stringent requirements for things like repetitive movements that the cost to implement the law would have been more than most small companies could afford. L&I hired lots of extra staff to enforce it (they like surprise visits). Then the law was repealed. L&I still has lots of extra staff - no layoffs there! Last year they made a "heat stress" rule, that says if it's over 75degrees, you have to provide x amount of water per employee. No problem, all our outside guys have their own 2 gallon thermojugs. If it's over 80 degrees, employees can take a break when ever they like for as long as they like, until they feel cooler, or a mandatory 15 minutes out of each hour. The employer also has to provide them with a shady place with a fan (or air conditioning) to cool off. None of the studies that I've seen justify L&I spending the $ to hire / implement all these new rules, but no one will stop them. *** sigh ***
  6. Yeah, and that really pisses me off! I bet they have a whole lot of employees who won't see money they are owed, but the owners are still making the big bucks. How can a judge look at that and think those *#sh*&(#$*# should get paid?
  7. We're still waiting on our check from Nissan..... Rite Aid won't pony up a cent so far, even though we've liened 'em. Kevin Johnson said (last week) that he had nothing to tell me...... And we worked for ISD on TJ Maxx and when ISD went belly up, TJ Maxx lawyer said "Sorry". I didn't lien that one (my bad) so we're hosed on $3500 there. Crap!
  8. On another note, we've been recycling pan faces (4" deep) into strawberry beds - make a frame with some support for the face and tada! Raised bed - keeps the slugs away!
  9. I don't know about your area, but here, there is a company that gives us bins and comes by to get them when they are full (no charge to us). We have to cut the faces up, but .... like you said, beats throwing them in the dump!
  10. Yeah, they paid us in like 15 days. They absolutely understand how IP impacted us, and how we aren't real happy with how Rite Aid is handling things for us....
  11. We did a small Rite Aid service for Blair after Image Point went TU. I think Blair has the Rite Aids - at least I hope. Coast was horrible to work for. Pre Pay Rocks!
  12. Here's a site that has some hysterical dialog between scammers and "victims". http://www.419eater.com/html/letters.htm
  13. The local county here has the same bias against LED price pods - they consider them "Message centers" and mc's are not allowed in the sign code. Except for government agencies (like the local fair grounds, which has one) and schools. They turned down a permit for gas station LED sign on a major road in the unincorporated county area, when just down the road (I think about 1/4 mile away), in the incorporated city, there are several small LED message centers. I think it's obvious these ignorant people need to be business owners before getting elected. Maybe they'd understand that eye catching signs are a necessary component of a successful business. Knotheads!
  14. I've read some of the scam the scammers stuff before and almost hurt myself laughing!
  15. I believe Blair Signs picked up the West Coast end.
  16. I really need a program that I can export my parts prices. I use Peachtree and am pretty happy with it, and can export anything into excel. I've already set up an excel template for estimating, but you still have to look up current prices and manually plug them in. I need to make this easy as possible for my boss... Any suggestions?
  17. Well, I just got another notice from the bankruptcy court, granting permission for the Debtor (ISD) to pay officers Jay Kaminsky and Bryan Vaughn wages they were owed thru 3/18 (the paper didn't say how much $); and to pay William H Griffin, President $ 4038.46, Eric Sekeres $ 4038.46, Seth Sekeres $ 2400.00 and Charles Sekeres $ 2400.00. So if you run your company into the ground, don't worry, you'll still get paid!
  18. I just filled out my paperwork - I don't expect I'll ever see a $ from the bankruptcy....... dang, I am sooo mad at them!
  19. Just got a call that they have mailed the check today - we'll see!
  20. Well, here I go again. Did a takedown (Payless Shoes) for Loren Electric, and 90 days later..... no pay. Called 'em, called 'em, called 'em, get the run around. Finally gave me their acccountants phone number - Shelly has apparently been "out" for awhile so no checks have been cut. But she's "back" now, and is supposed to be in the office in the afternoon, and they will let her know I've called. Anyone else experiencing this?
  21. Geeze, another "Big Brother" scheme. Let's say someone who doesn't like you tells CON ed (or whomever) that you left lights on in a commercial building - how will they find out? Put meters in every office? Doubtful - you'll be guilty until proven innocent. It's all coming down to the end..... And my daughter and her fiance live in SF, but they aren't tree huggers. Yet...
  22. I would have filed a lien, but the time frame in WA state is past - and I missed the opportunity. The boss is NOT pleased. java script:add_smilie("","smid_84")
