  1. Nice, Will this be with clear glass neon fill only?? We have a Designer color for red faces. We dont sell much but it is an Argon fill.
  2. Welcome aboard "Mr Green" Glad to see you here. How are things going?
  3. I think a reputable company would not jepordize an account especially a large sign program or even a one off project. It would put a black mark on thier name and thier product. That is unless they went through proper channels to secure permission to do so.
  4. I asked your boss how you were doing with the sales and told him I never heard from ya. He said you were sticking with teaching. 800/345/9010
  5. I wonder what brand was in there??? 40 years working fine and then only 3 years. Would that still be under warrantee?
  6. I know John personally along with his engineers and believe they have thought this through. UL Jim - What is the code for faces. I think that they have to be polycarbonate to begin with to have the sign UL. I may be wrong but... A large majority of UL signs do not use a UL listed face material due to the price.
  7. Never thought about IKEA. There's one by Newark Airport. I dont get over there that often but will try and remember next time over there. Google images have a shot and they only look about 10 - 12 ft but are really thick strokes. I do know they are lit with lamps. There is a 4 sets of 18 ft letters going up on a bank in N. Carolina. CL71 on 3" centers with 60mA
  8. Sorry for the confusion. I ment TD bank. It has CL65 and Emerald Green on it.
  9. Atlantic City has some gigantic letters on Trumps buildings. I would guess at 40+ feet. He always likes to do things bigger than everyone else. How big are the letters on the TD tower in Toronto?
  10. I would love to get something like that but I go through about 4 phones a year. If its not attached to me I'll loose it, break it or sink it.
  11. Best of luck sign girlie. Bite the bullet and pass the buck off on the boss with the customer. If he is screwing up make sure the customer knows it is not you. I personally would find another shop, network through your distributors. They will know the good and the bad companies to work for and who is hiring without spending tons of $ on gas driving around. Why would you move from sunny Florida?
  12. My opinion is that the owner does not necessarily have to know what needs to be done, just make sure that the check clears at the end of the week, It does help a lot though. A project Managers duty is to manage the project. Would that fall under the relm of knowing what needs to be done and how? If you want it to be a succes then I would offer to buy the shop. Mary, the Allen industries you have in your bio, is that in Tampa? That is a very credible national account company. Why did you leave, or you working at the sister location a few states North.
  13. Interesting. Will it increase an existing blowers output?? or just work like a variac to control a motor that has a set speed?
  14. IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT AREA CODE< /SPAN> We actually received a call last week from the 809 area code. The woman said 'Hey, this is Karen . Sorry I missed you--get back to us quickly. I have something important to tell you.' Then she repeated a phone number beginning with 809 We didn't respond. Then this week, we received the following e-mail: Do Not DIAL AREA CODE 809, 284, AND 876 THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION PROVIDED TO US BY AT&T. DON'T EVER DIAL AREA CODE 809 This one is being distributed all over the US . This is pretty scary, especially given the way they try to get you to call. Be sure you read this and pass it on. They get you to call by telling you that it is information about a family member who has been ill or to tell you someone has been arrested, died, or to let you know you have won a wonderful prize, etc. In each case, you are told to call the 809 number right away.. Since there are so many new area codes these days, people unknowingly return these calls If you call from the U.S. , you will apparently be charged $2425 per-minute. Or, you'll get a long recorded message. The point is, they will try to keep you on the phone as long as possible to increase the charges. Unfortunately, when you get your phone bill, you'll of ten be charged more than $24,100.00. WHY IT WORKS: The 809 area code is located in the British Virgin Islands. The charges afterwards can become a real nightmare. That's because you did actually make the call. If you complain, both your local phone company and your long distance carrier will not want to get involved and will most likely tell you that they are simply providing the billing for the foreign company. You'll end up dealing with a foreign company that argues they have done nothing wrong. Please forward this entire message to your friends, family and colleagues to help them become aware of this scam. 15. My old neighbor lost a dozen people from his fire department. he was on vacation when it happened. He brought me some mud from the site. I dried it out and after it turned back to cement I sealed it into tubes for the guys to have as a memory. If the wind that day was blowing onshore there would have been a lot more health issues over here. It was a pretty nasty thing to see, I have never seen a sky that looked olive green. Bless them all.
  16. No more teaching? Dress nice & know your s**t. Be able to give them a price rite on site, catch them in the heat of the moment before they can think about it or shop around. This way you can get a deposit rite there. Store owners are usually there for opening and closing. Cash buisness' it;s best to hit them late in the day when they have all the cash in hand, or visit in the AM and show design in the afternoon/ evening. Add 20-25% to price and give them a 15% cash discount. Have a selection of lease signs for holidays (20% off, clearance, ect.) leasing is 100% rite off and is residual income. do 2 week leases. if your traveling around, you can drop off and pick them up. I've got a lot of ideas Pm me or call the office.
  17. Happy b-day Erik, Have fun tonight. You better be taking today off and let everyone cater to ya.
  18. Yesterday little Sean started 1st grade. He got his first bus ride. We live 1/2 mile from school and he has a 25 min bus ride. First on and last off, go figure. He has been going with my wife to school for 3 years (she teaches preschool Special Ed 3 & 4yr olds) She said she felt lonly on the ride in. I leave to early to see him get on the bus but he said he likes the new school. Summers over and back to the norm. another few years and baby J will be off to the wonderful world of school. Wish I could go back and do it all over again.
  19. I'll check with a couple local shops on permit $'s Taxes are to pay for hookers, houses, payoffs, ect. Our gas is finally up to 3.46, 30$ a day now.
  20. In Jersey you need a permit if the sign is removed from the building. Even if you are putting it back up the same as it was. Electrical permits are needed if you are running a new circuit. Everything here costs. Even driving down the roads we pay tolls everywhere. Corruption, gotta love it. For #2 they would probably make you get a structural permit to support whatever is powering it. I think they will figure a way to get your money.
  21. [if he's not nice we can always alert Homeland security for the return trip Just playin with ya.
  22. You never know what happens when there has been to much beer consumed, He may even be able to be converted. Marko, you had a typo in your post, you must have accidentally put in the word "continually" He'He
  23. You have a valid point, In my wifes district a majority of the kids are raised by thier grandparents and have no teaching at home on basics. It is pretty sad when the dad splits and the mom wants nothing to do with them leaving them with the grandparents or for the state to deal with.. She works on seperating the real special education canidates with the ones that are just behind on basics like color recognition, speaking, sitting still in class. stuff like that. The ones that do have special needs are then classified when they reach elementary grades. I guess I should have been a little more specific, sorry
