  1. A clear face with green vinyl will work as long as you use a diffuser film so you dont see the strokes through the vinyl. Yes green lighting it will bring out the color as white will only transmit the green spectrum of the light through it and block the red and blue. Thats why letters lit with green are so much brighter than white. If you are going to use green make sure it is a rare earth color so it holds its output. (Tropic Green or HP green). Standard green will look good at first but loose a large portion of it's output very fast and in a year will look as good as snow white does.
  2. Should have said 15mm CL Designer 71 , thanks for the plug I saw them when I was at the Seattle show. They would'nt let me hook a meter up to it. We put one of our A's in Ventexs table which was rite next to it. Thier rep Bill took a picture with his phone. Maybe John has it?? If I were to use a system I would use YYZ's. He demo'd it in Toronto for me.
  3. Just got back into work. i had to change my flight home a day and got bumped up to first class, That was the only relaxing sleep i got. It was great meeting you all at the booth and the bar Its nice to put a face with a name, to bad our reservations got screwed up and thrown out of our hotel, I was getting ready for a drink fest. The Excalibur was a much better place. Erik, you should've come to the after party Saturday, Open bar for a few hours, got a 6 pack down then took the booth down after that it was Martini time and we closed 2 bars and got thrown out of one (dont remember that one). Drinks on me in Orlando!
  4. You should be able to get lists from the Auction house website. That's how it was done with Masonlite.
  5. Plane lands in Vegas 8:30 tonight. Staying at the Orleans. Still being on eastern time I should be in the casino about 2AM for some uninterupted roulette (thats when they have the .25 tables) for about 10 -15 minuites. See Ya all there.
  6. I'll be there as soon as I shut the booth down.
  7. I worked for a full service shop till the glass bender left and I inherited it and started my own gig. Did it till I got married then my wife wanted a guaranteed check every week instead of trying to track my money down. Now I have a corperation called "Moonlight Designs", legally a consulting thing so I keep my insurances to a minimum but run all my expensis through it for my night work incase I get paid by a check if they dont have cash at the end of the night.
  8. Travis, The ISA and lawers are dealing with the Vermont problem. We have supplied information on mercury consumption that contradicts Eurocoms claim that they made. There is no area that is "to small of a market". As far as suppliers go they only care about their margins. Do you actually think that they will go in and fight, The only thing they do is drop the price to beat the competitor. Suppliers are the ones who profit no matter what is used. In regards to manufacturers getting together. We have asked other manufacturers to help with combating the LED thing with noone stepping up, John from Ventex and Joe from Tecnolux has supplied us with power supplies (many thanks). Have you seen any others make displays, promote neon, offer proto type supplies for mock ups (how did yours go, I never heard from you about glass for the display) Call the LED people to the plate at the shows (they hate when we show up at their booth and we welcome them to ours). Our biggest competetor knocked off our channel letter chart down to the exact brightness differences (they will never step up to the plate) they sent a salesman to the energy commisson in California while we sent engineers. We are out there to help but the other glass manufacturers just sit aside and let someone else do the work. Enough rambling and have a nice weekend
  9. It takes a long time to learn this trade and I agree with Mr NEON ( thats my liscense plate here in Jersey). I have a few calls a month about people wanting to set up shops, Haveing no clue what is involved in learning they say they can learn from a video or a book like they learned how to use thier router or theier Gerber edge. There are a few that will eventually learn it but most will either loose thier shirt or not even get into it. The worst thing is the ones who jump in and start putting out SHIT work. This gives a bad name to the industry. THis happens when someone doesnt want to pay someone to do it and thinks they can do it and keep the money. I do get a kick out of people that call and fresh out of school and complain about our product. I love this site and have to agree with John on not trying to use it to promote our products but will help anyway possible. I dont have much time at night to post cause I get home around midnight almost every night from bending. I cant spend to much time during the day but frequently check it out while I'm doing emails. Keep up the good work WCSG and Kgirl and I'll see everyone in Vegas. They grouped all the neon people together so it should be interesting and not have to walk far. We are about 15-20 feet from the Connecticut people.
  10. Last time in Vegas there was a great party at Casino lighting, I was there for a while and unfortunately I was forced to leave that one for a dive. I do not know of any this year but one can be set up at a casino for a big get together, get drunk kind of thing. In Atlantic city theres a good party at a local shop every December. I think one of the major problems is that someone has to open thier shop at night, assume the insurance possibilities and lock everything up. If anyone has any ideas i'll be glad to help out as much as I can. Joe from Tecnolux is usually on top of these things.
  11. I'm a little confused. How does a light bulb that produces light create greenhouse gas emission in weight measurements? Are they talking about the creation of the raw electric? Once they have everything converted into energy efficent ways of doing things do you think that they will slow the production of electricity? They will find other uses for the extra energy they created. I was trying to be energy efficent in my new home and got rid of every one of those compact light bulbs. Couldnt see a damn thing and didnt want to wait till they warmed up.
  12. John, That 4060 you gave me went into a box against Sloan Great white . Bill sent you pictures from Seattle. Did you get them? They werent to happy . They didnt mind to much when I show Gel-core We took the display and put it in your booth next to another chinese company. Can you send me a few more? Sean
  13. Yep, Just got back from Seattle. First time there and it was beautiful. I'll contact you Tuesday when I go back to my office.
  14. There used to be a members map. Maybe WCSG can help on that one. Good luck on your journey.
  15. Someone has to keep the treehuggers on thier toes. There's probably more mercury in the rain that falls on thier head. Or in the fish that they eat. As I say " Go w/ the glow"
  16. Eric, Did our rep ever get in touch with you? I gave him your cell #
  17. Could be running solar power. The outside shot looks like a typical NJ Mcmansion. They are clearing out all the farmland and building houses like that.
  18. If your learning to drive a truck you can always pull over if you screw up or scared. There's only one way if you mess up flying. Law enforcement didn't make the top 10????
