CAll me tonight I think the only day I can escape is tomorrow too. -
Just bought myself a new iPod, my old 1st generation finally took a dump. I was without one for 1 day and it was pure hell, I felt as naked as being without my cellphone. This one is cheaper, smaller & does MORE. I love it!!! :D Being in my truck and not being able to hear the songs I wanted to was absolute suckage The cool part is I can store CD cover art, Holds my photo album and will display on a TV and stores the full resolution images on it's disk. It's the smaller 20Gig iPod but more room than I would ever use, my old was a 5Gig. I'd highly recommend one, they have lots of features like calendar with a planner, alarm, games and other mods you can use for business.

Got back Sunday night from LAughlin Nevada. We and took our Jet Ski's with us, driving time took about 5-6 hours from our house. Temp was 112-115 and wouldn't you know just as we arrive the fan unit in my truck to blow in the AC blows We stayed at the Palms Resort, arriving at 6pm we checked and dunked the ski's in at 7pm and went for a long trip down river. Most of the time was spent just killing the motor and floating alongside side the ski down river. Man was it relaxing :D We didn't really engage in gambling to much, I'm not to much of a gambler though I love Black Jack. I just won enough to pay myself back for food and board then quit. I had to pull my wife away though :hammer: from the slots. That heat takes a toll on you bigtime and riding the ski's and being out of shape killed us. Very hard to get out of bed for the both of us, so sad There were all kinds of boats and ski's out. It seems to be a very fast growing town now. I don't have very many pics cause I forgot to take a H2o camera, but here's a few The drive back sucked with no AC :o we were dying for 3 -4 hours till we reached Rancho Cucamonga.

untilChange of plans. Just got the Jet Ski's tuned up, so now it's time for throwing some shoes on the sandbars & floating down river. Do a little gambling of course.

heh, no sooner did I read your post and what do I find in my mailbox, the new issue "Sign Business". After reading it does make for a good "how to" article. but then the next article has to do with format printing

I've seen several threads around different forums and I'm coming to the conclusion that the Sign Painter is going the way of the dodo. You have to be a real artist to be a sign painter, it's not something everyone has a talent and a eye for. But now with vinyl cutters and the newer cheaper and easier format printing where accuracy and quantity is easier and faster, I just see the painter as having to adapt to the new industry. But they seem stubborn and resilient to change over and I'm wonderering if it's "fear", fear to learn something new after mastering a way for so long. I hear the cons to vinyl such as, you can't letter on unstable surfaces like stone or stucco. Well in turn I would think that's where a dimensional letter would come into place. They say any dummy can go on a computer and design a sign and you have to be a true artist. I think it's true, a computer can aid a non artistic individual but I'm thinking a sign painter could do wonders with one especially with the talent and eye for art. So give up the brush? Vinyl one day soon will be lost as well as format printing technology gets better and less expensive with more aggressive inks and solvents. Why spend the time to color seperate when you can do it all in one shot. You can say also that "Sign Painters" are a breed all their own too. These are the same people who paint scenic murals and have a gift to capture images and display them on canvas. So is a "Sign Painter" really a wayward artist who choses to do advertising instead of selling his work at a gallery? IMHO, sign paint work is inaccrurate and doesn't compare to the brilliance and accuracy of format printing. But to get damn near close to one is truely a talent. I know if I had a choice as a business owner I would want an accurate depicted sign rather than paint. On the other hand if I was fortunate enough to own a classic car I would want a painter with talent to spray and airbrush a nice set of flames to flow with the metal paint than have a post surface, or to have a artist paint a mural inside my resturant to depict a setting according to my theme. Let's not forget Re-creation of classic setting and theme parks. My conclusion would be to adapt in other areas or change.

I'm such a lazy bastard, I just went outside to water the back lawn and noticed I started to empty and clean the spa...like days ago. Blacked out somehow and walked away just leaving it there. it may sit for a day longer but it sounds good tonight to go with my beer and pretzels Back to the thread, where do you live? Sounds like your doing pretty good for a home based business. I don't know what your bills are or costs to operate but...where's my calculator?

I think I can have fun with this thread for the rest of my life in between phone calls and taking a dump. I'm not mistaken this is "Mr. Wet Application" the man everyone loves to have post. "the rest of youus" I'm picturing Elmer fudd Rodger, "The Spin Stops Here"

Well My wife SG and a few other friends went to go see the mvoie lastnight and suprising it wasn't to crowded. I don't wanna give away to much but it's a good flick, wish there was more action but all in all a "go see in a theater and not wait for DVD movie" That little girl Dakota Fanning I think will be hitting it big one day in Hollywood. If you've ever heard the original HG Wells broadcast it is similiar to the original story than the black and white movie from the 60's or 50's It's definitely a see at the movies, escpecailly if you see it at a good theater with a great sound system (I'm real big on sound) the whole theater will rumble. I'm a bass lover just ask my neighbors, I have 2 subs for my surround sound system :D

Good movie SG, was missing a little bit of something I can’t put my finger on but I don’ think it’s going to be a movie of the summer. I’m going to post this here instead of SW so all who are interested can view and read it. These varias aliases that I was using that were deleted, I have no idea what he’s talking about and he (Rapid) seems to be talking out of his ass because every post I have made is still up in SW. If he’s referring to the ohio isp poster I’m in San Diego. I have been making posts along with my wife when she gets a chance to direct traffic to this site as an “alternative” to others I feel along with many others who get tired of boards who carry an old lady like syndrome or a board like Letterville who is pretty much run and now hijacked by the usual posters who seem to be belligerent and self loving in almost all posts. I see time and time again people who like myself who have been on the board just get bombarded by the usual “gang”. The exact people who constantly do this on a normal basis are the exact ones who have posted in SW, go figure. I have pretty much laid out exactly what I think has been wrong in Letterville and to see who ever doesn’t fit in or whatever they don’t like, you get either edited or deleted. My timing about the problems in Letterville is coming a little premature than I would like but here it is and this is how I feel. It’s overrun and the Moderator (Steve) who I’m sure is a all around nice guy is to weak when it comes to his board and the way he lets the usual run around. You can’t mess around with a “Letter Pal…It’s a no no” I don’t believe in paid membership boards or boards that have to many advertisers because it starts to get taken over by politics and advertising, and I’m sure everyone knows how that can dictate. SW & SI & Letterville I feel is this way. I always hear it takes a lot to run a board, it costs me $75.00 a year and it’s something I don’t ask for help with. I’m not complaining about the capitalistic part of having a board to make money but at the end it will dictate and taint a board. Hiding behind an alias? Well yes, if your smart. If you have a mouth that can run like mine from time to time I need to. Not to hide form other sign people like Bruce Bowers or who ever else from Letterville who thinks using an alias is to hide. Here’s a con about SW, SI & Letterville that most of you probably don’t know about. Google your own name and attach “sign” What do you think will happen and who do you think will see it? If you don’t know the answer to that question I’m going to tell you. Just think, if you’re a straight talking individual you have nothing to worry about but if you’ve made dumb comment like I do from time to time (on politics), If your asking questions you don’t know the answers to or making dumbass comments who sees them? No, not the government. I guarantee you, punch in your name if you’re an avid poster to those sites you will see yourself come up. I know this from a recent experience from posting a question on one of those sites, I will never one anymore. I choose alias and always will. When Mr. Bowers and co. keep posting their comments it will bite them in the ass sooner or later. This is a piece of info you will probably only hear on a board like this. This board is an Alternative, I’m now viewing my board in the background and I see a post about “snob”…that does come to mind, So does “not knowing the bigger picture”. If I can make a “plug” in a post to tell more peeps about this board everywhere I can, I’m going to do it now more than ever. If anyone from letterville would like to post in regards to this go ahead, I don’t think I’m going to edit or delete you…just stick to the facts as best you can. My plug about I337 is me, my game alias…we don’t use real names there either it must be a generation or intelligence thing not to sure. Again this is one post that I or anyone else will have to worry about getting deleted. I’d like to write more but it’s late and I gotta eat, I’m sure there might be more to follow this but I gotta feed a impatient wife now. Maybe I’ll try to finish this up..who knows

K, just ate breakfast and had two cups 'o' coffee. I think I can talk now. Nothing like problem solving, makes me enjoy the job more and more. A greater appreciation so to speak. If there wasn't a challenge the job would be boring. I think the Electric Sign field in the industry has the biggest challenges of all others and the most discipline needed. I love nothing better than to drive down the freeway at night and see my work glowing and radiating onto the roadway. <-----as poetic as I can get :D I also Sell, fabricate & install electric signs. Travis, I gather your talking about planning and executing a job start to finish. Maybe the feeling is unexplainable. I'm trying to phase out of electric signs and stick with non-illuminated, but as I do. I notice the appreciation of the finished job is not as great. I mean I know it's a damn good product, but maybe it's just that more time...that's what it is. The more time you spend the more you appreciate what you did. That was obvious wasn't it I'm glad i'm not a public speaker
