  1. My experience with SW is this. I got my Panther cutter ahead of the expected time. I'm very happy with it, but the only downfall and it may have changed but when I ran into a problem and needed tech support, I had to leave a message and they said I can expect a call back within 24 hours. That I didn't like, but the quality of the return phone call from them was helpful. Now, if I was a total noob to the industry and I needed a lot of help to get it going I'd be in trouble. it's been years and I can't remember, and if that were the case maybe they have videos I think or something. I haven't ordered anything else since my cutter and don't need to, I have to many suppliers around me here in so-cal. That is my only gripe with SW, but again....it's been years and it may have changed. Maybe that SW employee can answer that, if it has indeed changed.
  2. I Level since you have someone who obviously cares about the reputation of their company who just came in and replied, perhaps you can ask the question and they can answer it. Unless you already got it taken care of by Roland :D But out of curiosity what was the problem you had that they sent you away?
  3. I like it very much, my first impression was wow. My only question is the header background. The 1000100010, I'm guessing it's because your signs are digital for weather and scoreboard stuff. But that's the only aspect I would look to change to maybe a more of a industry background, I don't know like a fade of a sign in production or something. Cabinet getting made with sparks e.t.c. Very powerful appearance, defines and portrays you off the bat as knowing what your doing and you have found a professional. :smile011:
  4. :D Hey cool, someone from Signwarehouse finally responds
  5. Well we had a much needed weekend away to Rosarito for Memorial Weekend. We had a absolute blast! We came into town at 11am to early to check into our hotel so went to our usual bar “Tequila Safari” owned by an American couple who came form Palm Springs. They have the best and biggest Margaritas in town. We met another couple there down from northern LA, Rubin and Laura. Rubin & I actually had a lot in common with some work aspects. He works with 5 and more axis CNC Routers for NASA and very fluent with CAD and MasterCAM. Kirstie took off across the street to get her nails done the later to find out her hair too. Laura soon joined her and Rubin came back to share a bucket of beers with me. Later before parting our ways we made a point to meet again later that night at 8pm back at the Tequila Safari to hang out for the evening. We had Taco’s at a local shop and looked for a club to go dancing to. All the clubs were packed till we finally came to “Rock ‘n’ Roll Taco” which wasn’t to crowded but had good music. Laura & Rubin danced enough for all of us. We all drank like fish that night. The next morning Kirstie & I went shopping followed by relaxing on the beach. Wish I would have remembered to bring chairs and an umbrella. It was very relaxing. We soon went to have more Margaritas at you know where, where we ran into Rubin & Laura again. They had just gotten up from the long night. We had a drink or two then tried to meet up later that night again but never did. Kirstie & I came back to Tequila Safari for Steak and Lobster which was so juicy. We made our last night an early one for we decided to get up very early to head back across the border due to my truck possibly having some trouble with my engine light coming on. Rubin & Laura were a real cool couple to hang out with. Here's a few pics
  6. Happy Memorial Weekend!! Don't forget the meaning! Everybody enjoy your weekend and be safe. I'm out to Rosarito Mexico, by the time you read this hopefully i'll be sitting on the beach with a beer in my hand :D

  10. if it's a 1/8 bit spiral single flute you want it at 18,000rpm's and 2 inch/sec 1/4" bit at 15,000 2 inch/sec
  11. Indeed, old plex will chip like crazy and crack. Most likely your probably using extruded plex which is not good for small intricate projects, that's where cast material shines. But how come you don't use your engraver?
  12. Should cut fairly well with a bandsaw and router. What kind of blades are you using? What kind of plex? Oh and what are you trying to make?
  13. Congrats on the new household addition :D Neutered? :o Is there life after death?
  14. I can't imagine using anything else other than pyrex. :D *added ....I just had a thought the person who told you to use a conductive err, metallic surface may have a hidden agenda against you
  15. That is definetly a very Manly recipe :D
  16. Got the grill going and the spa heaten up! :D Any good marinating recipies for future use? I usually just marinated the Sirloins in beer, teriyaki sauce, pepper & season salt
  17. I have to watch that ride in action. SG YOU LIE!!!!!
  18. Marek, What's that "Knight's Touranment" at Legoland all about? I keep seeing advertisements everywhere all around town
  19. I Just looked at it with kirstie, I want to try it later. I ues to love those kinds of games
  20. Just make sure there not the steel toe kind. Marek, I love those games they remind me of the old RPG's of Apple IIc & Early PC in the 80's
  21. Okay I think I may take 3-4 sessions, probably some in the business aspects like sales & pricing. I'll see if I can learn a thing or 2 :D Which ones are you going to Marek?
  22. K, I need to review the seminar list but I might take something I'm not framiliar with like painting or something :D I'm starting to dab more into dimensional signage so I'm thinking about that class, since it's been so long since I've touched 1shot or a paint brush. I can only draw stick figures. I just did some mothers day signs for their kitchens & I used 1shot, I forgot about the mixing with that Chrom stuff and other tidbits like keeping consistent gloss. Wish there were some CNC seminars there
  23. That's going to have to be a question your going to have to ask yourself on money you have to spend for one. If it's going to be a big format your going to want to get solvent based printer. I don't have one, I have a small PC-60 I bought when they first came out and I still to this day have not used it :D Shame on me, it collects dust. I think there is going to be a Sign Convention real soon in Texas somewhere, probably Houston or San Antonio. You might want to check that out evaluate the different outputs.
  24. It's going to depend on whether your using actual seperate pieces of vinyl or digital printing. There are different grades of digital media that can be printed on an ofter it gets laminated for UV protection i.e. boats & salt air. If it's going to be vinyl, High Performance vinyl is usually used, the 7-10 year type. There is software out there that has the vehicle dimensions, doors, panels, windows all layed out that you can buy too. Makes your work easier. Hope that helps
  25. It can get pretty hairy out there. I've seen ski's crack and hit the rocks and break apart. I've probably pulled 3 people that I didn't know from the water there. A lot of people have died there too. There's no beach just rocks, so if your ski dies out on you your fucked. Highest I've been is probably 15'-20' in the air, the only trick i've done is pulling a 180. But to do these things and be attached to an object that weighs 900lbs is pretty crazy. There's a couple of broken up boats sitting along the point loma wall. I think they might call it Dolphin tank is because on the way out there from Shelter Island long the Point Loma peninsula wall next to the Submarine base there is a Dolphin area where the Navy trains them for what ever. Probably chasing torpedo's or something. I have yet to go to oceanside to jump the surf, much safer there. At least if you fall off your ski will go into the sand and not the rocks. Surfing is something I want to continue this year too. Only been out once and that was in Hawaii, but caught the first wave that I went for and stood up the whole way :D Loved it, would love it more than jumping waves. One comparison to the beach & Point Loma is that the build and break is a LOT longer so you have more time to enjoy the wave you catch. That's why it's so popular.
