  1. 99% of the time I would never like to see new regs or gooberment over site. I really think that ISO or UL MET or some recognized body should do a study and publish the wild and IMHO overblown claims of all this so called green technology. These claims are no better than the male enhancement pills. What would happen if I used this so called data and sold a national account and later was sued because the product does not perform as advertised.
  2. Cool looking. I will ad that We will never buy from a supplier that is also our competitor. We build wholesale to the trade only. I remember dropping france when they had the idea to sell cabinets. We have not bought any in years from them even after it failed. We dont use axium and have not tried them but it looks like we never may now.
  3. I know MET is somewhat new to this. We looked into it and like the program. What I could not get from them was a reference from any companies that have switched over. If anyone is using MET currently and could share the experience would be great. PM is fine or call us direct 314-426-2162 Thanks Steve
  4. I checked our customer Data base and we are in St. Louis and I cant find him. I will ask my office mgr cause i can hardly remember all the names of the shop guys. (;
  5. I would be sure to check state statutes but I would place a lien on the property work was preformed. Make sure you contact the customer and to them because the may not have paid SAR guy and you may get it quick. I had a shop stiff me and I put a lien on the prop. I later found out the guy stiffed the supply house, steel dist, eng and concrete co. I feel sorry for the guy that had to pay twice for a sign but he should have gotten lien waivers. He was quite pissed and still owed the dead beat 25% which about was almost out portion due. He paid me I dont know how the rest faired.
  6. I seem to be getting tons of spam from every half ass sign supply maker of cheesy sign crap. My thoughts are that the only place sign related new that has my email addy are the sign forums and the ISA show. I joined the sign forums way before the spam started but it seemed the flood gates were opened a few weeks after the ISA show. Hmmmmmm has anyone else had a similar experience ? BTW I will not EVER buy anything from a company that has a telemarketer call me or sends me spam. Same goes for the dumb ass's that cant read the 3" high no solicitor sign on the front door.
  7. I talked to a customer last friday and he said as well as a few news stories that the employees were locked out at the plant in Cape. He also said the people that work for General are out scrambling for a job and is already getting resumes. Best I can tell that the employees did not see it coming. I hope that vendors and others are not going to be left hanging. As for upcoming work we are expanding into our new building (3 times the size of our current shop) and will be happy get some new customers and some more work. I guess the timing was pretty good and will be able to increase production when the time comes. I am happy we only do wholesale fab work as I hear every job has multiple bidders racing to cut each others throat. General may have been competition but I hate to see a decent shop go away.
  8. I looked a a article in the local paper and they report the same thing closed on friday. That sucks, they have been around a long time. Feel bad for the folks out of work.
  9. I have heard from 3 shops that General Sign in Missouri has closed it doors as of last friday. They may have been the largest shop in the state. What the heck happened ?????? I am also wondering if admiral is closed as well ?
  10. The additional documentation depending on the amount of UL listed signs you produce could be quite substantial. We looked at MET but I could not get them to send me a list of subscribers to contact and see if they like it. I tried a fairly long time ago contacting ETL with not any success. I am not sure but as of now I dont think anyone else of the 9 agencies that are given the authority by OSHA offer anything yet.
  11. You should tell your client that they may be real dim BUT, they are $aving 85% in energy $aving$!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk This gives me a great marketing Idea. I am going to start marketing the most efficient letters ever. They will use our normal reverse channel letters only without lighting of any kind. They can have optional reflective vinyl to increase lighting by at least 50%. Of course I will charge more because they are Green. I hear since Algore is getting divorced Tipper will be getting 1/2 his stuff. He will be needing $$ so he can sell these for me for straight commission. I should be able to retire in 6 months.
  12. Looking at the picture it looks like the caption should read. "Soon we will have this green business about this far up everyones butts"
  13. Thats kinda what I thought but could not remember who and if the leftovers started this up.
  14. Is sky lift part of a re incarnation of the old sky hook (Phoenix sales) ?
  15. Maybe if the companies that pay like this got the same type of service in return and wait 90 days to go work for them than that crap would stop.
  16. WOW !!!!!! Thank God your guy was not killed. It looks like the power lines kept it from turning over. I know the big sign erectors around us have the equip checked and certified. Not sure of the frequincy
  17. "The check is in the mail" is one of the great lies and stall tactics used (in the states)
  18. Just closed on our new shop !!!!

  19. I agree I would also have atty look at loss off income and related damages.
