Just about a year ago today we discovered at ISA Expo Orlando that GE filed a lawsuit against AgiLight on patent infringment, http://www.thesignsyndicate.com/forums/index.php?/topic/5478-ge-vs-agilight/. Today the results of the lawsuit came out. AgiLight Inc. Granted Summary Judgment of Non-Infringement in GE’s Patents San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) March 22, 2013 Leading LED (light emitting diode) signage lighting manufacturer, AgiLight®, Inc. announces today that a federal court has granted a summary judgment in its favor in patent litigation brought against it by GE Lighting Solutions, LLC involving four LED patents. The United States District Court Northern District of Ohio ruled on March 18, 2013 that AgiLight’s products do not infringe two of the patents in the suit. Because GE’s claims under the other two patents previously had been denied, this ruling means that all of GE’s allegations have been rejected. “We are very pleased with the court’s ruling after more than a year of litigation. We maintained from the outset that our products do not infringe GE’s patents, and this ruling confirms that fact.” Said Steven Moya, President and CEO of AgiLight, “We greatly appreciate our customers who stood by us and continued to buy, specify and use AgiLight’s innovative LED products throughout this process.”

Does anyone here have any GE Tetra MiniStrips maybe left over from a job they completed? We need about 4 to 8 feet for our next SS light test on cabinet lighting. If anyone has some in 7100K or 5000K, please let us know, we'll buy from you as well as give you access to all the tests. Thanks, Erik erik@thesignsyndicate.com

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio, Dec 21, 2011 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX) -- GE Lighting Solutions, LLC GE -0.53% , today announced the settlement of a patent infringement lawsuit filed in May 2010 against Dongbu Lightec, formerly Fawoo Technology. GE Lighting Solutions is part of the GE -- Appliances & Lighting business unit of General Electric Company. The settlement terminates a pending action before the court regarding allegations of Dongbu Lightec's infringements of US Patents 6,799,864 and 6,787,999 that cover, among other things, light-emitting diode (LED) lamp heat sink designs and systems and methods for efficiently replacing existing lamps with such designs. The specific terms of the settlement will remain confidential, but as part of the agreement, Dongbu Lightec has agreed to a license from GE Lighting Solutions under the aforementioned patents. "We are pleased with this settlement, which demonstrates our commitment to defending GE Lighting Solution's intellectual property across the globe," said Jaime Irick, President and CEO of GE Lighting Solutions. "The '864 and '999 patents cover technology important to the long-life operation of LED-based lamps. GE Lighting Solutions is offering non-exclusive licenses to the '864 and '999 patents to interested parties."

The Soap Opera continues. As predicted, Sloan (not the toilet/urinal manufacturer) fires N.Glantz & Son, borrows GE's boot, to give the boot. This was predicted back in April of this year when GE dumped N.Glantz & Son like an ugly girlfriend http://www.thesignsy...-dumps-nglantz/ This comes on the eve of SloanLED's release of "about to hit the market" new products. Since N.Glantz has a partnership with JT LED, they just can't be counted on for pushing and promoting Sloans new products. So now the rumor is, Sloan is going to Montroy. All in all, it just makes better business sense for N.Glantz to exile them all and make a better profit margin in this cut throat "budget LED" (which they lead) market that's going on right now, it's just one big race to see who can make it to the bottom first. If I had a horse in the race, which I don't this would be one race I'd suggest sitting out and watching only from the stands. After all, I thought the only reason why people watch NASCAR was for the big crashes.
