Anyone going to ISA this year?  It crept up so fast...well this whole last year has gone by so fast.  I think this was the earliest we ever booked our room and flight, which was last October, lol

Gary, What meeting are you referring to? I don't see anything that fits that description.

I think he's jokingly referring to the National Sign Co meet and greet :P

If only ISA checked out the credit history of those National Sign & Service companies that they have attend their function, and of course stop handing out long time achievement awards to them, especially since they continue to poorly pay their subcontractors on various projects around the country.

If only...

Sorry, that is what I was referring to!  It's always fun to put a face, or faces, alongside the infamous deadbeats!  Course it's also fun to see their face when you ask them why they don't pay their bills!  Oops, my personality is showing.  Sorry.  For those that go, have fun!

Subbing.....not my line of work but, maybe for shits and giggles I'll go and take selfies with all the non payers all while having a ear to ear smile & shit eating grin on my face with them and post at a later time.

I remember for that one year I volunteered at the USSC show and they had their version of a National Sign Co Meet & Greet and when I walked through to say "hi"..... I was muttering to myself knowing our review list "...they pay, they don't, they don't, they don't....THEY especially don't....he has people looking for him"

Selfies would be great, and then post alongside the deadbeat company name!  Quite funny and apropo.

I haven't been in to the ISA show in a handful of years.

Think it might be cool to go and see whats new...if anything.

Does anyone know if all the days are the same (as far as the expo goes), or is there a day that is best to shoot for?

Quick reminder that the days of the ISA Sign Expo have shifted for 2019.  This year, the exhibit hall is open from Wednesday, April 24-Friday, April 26 (with education sessions starting on Tuesday, April 23). In recent years, the exhibit hall was open Thursday-Saturday (with education sessions starting on Wednesday).

Kenny, how come no Saturday this time? Just the scheduling unavailability or just busier during the week?

Basically, we wanted to try something new. Which is a regular part of our Expo planning each and every year. But changes to registration management company or our event programming or education scheduling/pricing tend to be less noticeable to attendees than switching the days of the week.

Traditionally, I think that we believed that some people couldn't attend during the workweek and so Saturday show hours would draw additional attendees. But I am told that the numbers may not have borne that out as much as expected--and some attendees/exhibitors likely prefer to have their weekends free. So we will see if Wednesday-Friday works well for this year.  (BTW, I should note that I don't know if this is just a one-year experiment. Not my department. 🙂

    • Well w-d 4o works well the wax is difficult, sounds like your leaving way to much meat to be taken off. 1/16” is about max for a 1/4”” bit. Not much if any lube will be needed if the bits sharp, just squirt the bit be fore starting so to keep the starting chips from sticking. Clean the bit and repeat for each letter.
    • I checked and yes, it's a true 1 3/8" punch.   The one on the left is the 1 3/8" and the one on the right is 1 5/16" (which I forgot that I had).  The blue tape in the photo is holding the "wings" for the punch.   IIRC the 1 5/16" was for small glass housings.      Anyway, still looking.   Will trade a good D punchor cash or other sign "stuff".
