  1. Erick; Have you or are you anticipating letting Signtiffic back on the Sign Syndicate ? The place was way more lively with his presence. I know many will disagree but it is just my humble opinion. Dominic
  2. Hey Signtiffic . Great Posting. Check Out SignWeb's General Discussion Board ( TICKED - OFF WITH COAST SIGNS ). Now If You Really Want A Good Laugh It's These People. I would simply ask if you have ever been to their plant in California and seen the people that they hire? I have seen the premises in California and can tell you it might be informative. Judging from your comments, I would venture to say you are a citizen of these here United States of America and possibly you are not the proper nationality. You might actually want a fair wage commensurate with your qualifications so of course you are not suited for employment. I can't speak for the other state, but here in California speaking English only and being an American citizen will undoubtedly exclude you from working in any factory setting. Dominic
  3. I only see stupid people when I look in the mirror............................... Hope you had a great vacation. But you are right, usually I need a vacation after my vacation. Dominic
  4. Where the heck are you "Big Dog" ??? The board ain't the same without you................ Dominic
  5. You took the thought right out of my head. The inside of most of the stores is straight out of the 60's and could use some modernization to their lighting systems. Heck, a good many in SoCal still use the old 75 Par or R type floods at their ceilings. Might be worth while pursuing............. Dominic
  6. Mr. Axiom; As far as the Einstein chain goes, did the retrofit encompass all the store lighting as in KFC or was it just the signs ? Dominic
  7. Mr. Axiom; Did I read correctly somewhere or am I mistaken about your company providing or installing LED lighting for Einstein Brothers Bagels. I perform service for their stores here in California and was wondering which ones you have done as I have not seen it in action. Also, as far as your retrofit at KFC in Diamond Bar, was this an isolated test? I assume you performed this for YUM Brands? Again, I have a relationship with them but haven't seen any other stores. As I am sure you know, YUM not only operates KFC but also Taco Bell which is on every corner in the USA. Also, in talking with my source who is an upper level executive, I was told that KFC is absolutely raging in China. Have you or are you in the process of penetrating this market. Someone else in my family, who is now a commercial pilot after doing a long stint in the military as a fighter pilot ran into an American businessman in Hong Kong who is in the process of licensing some sort of lighting products in the Chinese market. My family member wasn't sure of all the particulars but the businessman was sure this whole process would have a short shelf life as some entity in China would probably very quickly steal the technology. Just some random questions...... Dominic
  8. Let me close with this........ Whether or not I agree with anyone else on this board for their opinions or not, I will die defending their right to have them. I would never demean or chastise anyone else for having an opinion different than mine. My point is as always, I just disagree. I believe in the philosophy everything begins at home and have practiced that my whole life. Being said, the fact that Dickey Doo, if elected president, would represent all Americans, I think the fact he eats more McDonalds hamburgers than healthy food and is about 300 pounds overweight would send out a mixed message to the world. How would they take it if he had to go on official business to an impoverished nation that we are trying to garner support with. It would be taken as a sign of American arrogance, even though it wouldn't actually be. But again, I reiterate, I will defend to the death your right to vote for a Walrus to be president. I just can't do it. One thing for sure, he wouldn't be the model of physical readiness that we would like to portray to our armed services. Wait....maybe we could make him a drill instructor......Just kidding. Best of luck to all on the board and this is my final opinion on this subject. And for the record, I still don't want anything to do with the YESCO franchise plan. EOM Dominic
  9. China is a Communist nation and the people have very little say about the world around them. India has wealth or abject poverty. In Beiging you have to travel around with a gas mask due to the air quality. Huge masses die each year from every type of ecological poisoning imagineable. Many Indians drink from polluted river water and contract every type of sickness imagineable. Are these the examples you would like to follow. No, I like clean air and water and thank God that the government of the USA regulates this or industry would dump whatever into the atmosphere it felt like. I am very well accuainted with the oil industry in the USA and was wondering if you ever heard of Benzene, Xylene and Toulene ? These are carcinogens that would be dumped into our ecology if not for the EPA regulating them. Have you ever heard of H2S gas ? How about the oil company oxygenator called MTBE ? You or your children may have already ingested this with your water. Now I am not saying I am for over reaching government regulation, but Chinese or Indian regulations.... No way. And you are right, our children will have a lot more to worry about than being fat pigs. How about stepping up the education of our children through better schooling and more college grants.Oh wait, Tubby Tuba wants to cut education for the masses. That will sure make us compete better around the world. So I will say under no uncertain circumstances I would never support Governor Dickey Doo............. You know, his belly sticks out farther than his dickey doo. EOM Dominic
  10. He may have potential leadership skills but he certainly doesn't know how to push away from the table. How much does that Fat Bastard weigh anyway?? I would never trust a man to be president that can't even control his obviously out of control eating habits. How would he get our youth to practice good nutrition?? I heard he downs at least 14 hamburgers a day......... I hope Fatso runs for president so we can all find out what that elephant weighs............ Dominic
  11. I knew you would get it Big Dog! Alpha Mike Foxtrot is popular with some Harrier pilots.......... they end many transmissions this way. I get the Kilo Mike Alpha line but I want to add that Yesco will make all the franchisee stuff work by PFM. And hopefully will encounter no SNAFU's along the way. Like I said, best of luck to Yesco with the venture and hopefully it will work out with precision. I will stand back and watch it unfold with interest.....But I just won't be the guy who gets involved. And for the record and off subject, I also do not now, have never in the past and anticipate in the future never shopping at Walmart. The reason is............... They are the largest buyer of crap from China. China sells arms, munitions and other parts necessary for waging war around the world in many hotspots. China specifically sells somes arms and parts to Iran. Iran is on the enemy of the USA list. China has agreements with the USA that they won't do this but they ship the parts to Hong Kong. The parts are moved to an intermediary who has no agreements with the USA and they freight forward the stuff to Iran. Iran takes what it needs and then funnels the stuff to Iraq via clandestine methods and then it gets funneled to Afghanistan via those same clandestine methods and ultimately winds up killing human beings. Unfortunately some of those human beings who get killed happen to serve in the armed forces of the USA. This game goes on but you don't hear about it in the news. So part of every dollar that is spent in Walmart goes towards the death of American military but we close our eyes and pretend it doesn't happen. So in summary, I have never shopped there, I don't shop there now and I refuse to shop there in the future. Until an M-16, AK-47 or the like is pointed at me and I am told I will shop at Walmart..........It ain't going to happen. In fact, I would rather have the trigger pulled than set foot in Walmart. I believe "A warrior dies once, a coward dies a thousand times". And I would like to make this perfectly clear, I am not equating Walmart to YESCO........... not in any respect. I am just responding to someone who was comparing the two entities. I would never "Bitch Slap" YESCCO by comparing them to that bastion of patriotism......Walmart. Lets keep this point very clear.................... Dominic
  12. Agreed........... YESCO is equivalent to the modern day cure for polio. They are wonderful, great and deserve all the accolades thay receive. They are innovative, cutting edge and all that. They will most assuredly become the Walmart of the sign industry....... but my point is that i as a businessman and contractor have no desire to become a franchisee........ PERIOD. I wish them all the success and anyone who decides the path they choose is to hitch their wagon to the Kings of Vegas..... Again, I have no interest. Alpha Mike Foxtrot Dominic
  13. Signtiffic; Agreed, they probably do have the organization to pull someting like this off but that is not my point. I don't want any part of it and I can only guess that after reading the Iron Clad words that you post, you are way too independent to let anyone take the reins of your business. I can imagine you know exactly where you came from, where you are and where you would like to go and refuse to let anyone dictate the paramters of your journey. Continued success to you my friend............ Dominic
  14. All; Just my humble opinion but I have no inclination to be a franchisee of YESCO. No doubt they are a successful company but I have worked hard to get where I am and make ALL the decisions when it comes to the building and floating my own boat in the direction I see fit. I have an Electrical (C-10), Sign (C-45) and General Contracting (B) licenses as well as a state licensed electrician certification and I put in the time to get them. I won't share them nor do I want to share anyone elses licenses or proprietary software or whatever. I have a good customer base that fits my needs and do not need any lists from anyone else to make a success of my business. I work where and when I want for whom I want and don't need their national customer base. They are successful and hopefully they will continue, but I have no desire to become "YESCO LITE". Just my opinion Dominic
  15. I encounter this on a regular basis. I work for businesses that just happen to have the majority of owners who aren't as Bruce Springsteen sings "Born in the USA". Some are overtly hostile while others mask it well with a smile. I happened to have a conversation with one fellow about 9-11 and our involvement overseas. When push came to shove and we got to the nitty gritty, I finally came out and asked him if he were an American citizen. He answered in the affirmative. I asked him if conflict ever broke out with his country of origin or the USA, which side would he fight for. His answer set me back a bit but at least I could say he was honest. He said that USA or his home country........ well he would fight against the USA. The choice wasn't even close. Even though he was a citizen and enjoys the benefits of living in the USA, he would have no compunction taking sides against this country and those who he would ultimately have to kill, namely US citizens. I had all to do to take his head off but figured it wasn't worth going to jail after I smashed his face in. I let it go but understood the hatred runs very deep. I also reflected on those members of my family who immigrated to this country from Italy prior to World War II and even though were sometimes considered second class citizens, were proud to service in the United States military and fight the war in Europe for the USA. I have one family member who died at Normandy, one fought in Italy and another who was at Pearl Harbor and lived the horror of that attack. Another family member on the married side who happens to be Hispanic fought with the USMC on Iwo Jima and the thrill of his life was, prior to his death, going back and reliving his boot camp days at Camp Pendelton in Oceanside California. When he died, at his funeral was a small contingent of current Marines who sent him off to his maker with the honor and dignity he deserved. All this after becoming a naturalized citizen. So I do understand your frustration but that is the price you sometimes have to pay for living in the greatest country in the world. Be thankful you are an American and just know you have what he can never attain. And if that doesn't suffice, just bury your foot up his ass as he walks away and call some of us other posters immediately and we will be there to have your back. He won't undestand it, but you will...................
  16. To start, I come from a military family. Someone in my family has fought and in some case died at Normandy, Iwo Jima, Pearl Harbor, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq (I and II) and currently in Afghanistan. They served proudly in the Army, Navy and most importantly the USMC. So I am heartened by the news of Bin Laden's extermination from the planet. However, before we go crazy with the accolades, let us not forget that terrorism and the groups that promote it around the world are still active and very dangerous. Just like the War on Drugs, Hunger, Homelessness and many others we wage on an ongoing basis, the trek is not over. Just one player on a large stage has been eradicated and many actors line up to take his place. A big part of Bin Laden's plan was to damage our country economically as well as physically. He succeeded on both accounts and we find ourselves in the worst economy that we have experienced since 1929. We feel good today with his demise which serves as a symbolic victory for our country and affords us the retribution we so desperately wanted. But we shouldn't forget we have a long way to go in making our country whole once again. And as sure as the sun will rise up in the morning our work just keeps going forward. Hopefully we can rally this moment as Americans, not as Republican, Democrat, Liberal, Conservative, Independent, Black, White, Brown, Yellow, Male, Female, Gay, Straight or whatever and put aside our differences in making the greatest country whole for ALL Americans once again.
