Currently unemployed - Last employment was as General Manager of Ayers Signs, LLC. We specialized in national accounts - ship me your sign and I got it installed correctly and on time!!
My personal specialty is design - love to create that image for a company and make it work in a whole corporate package. Exceptional at scaling drawings and re-creating customer's artwork. Thoroughly enjoy everything in this industry from the front of the shop to the back!
I've managed entire shops from small vinyl sign and banner shops to medium sized electrical sign manufacturing shops. I absolutely love the sign industry.
I'm very old school ethically and visually in regard to signs. Computer has changed and helped this industry a lot but it has also taken away the "craft, skill, trade" image of signs. I miss that.

  1. Now that link was awesome!! great info
  2. Absolutely love what Las Vegas is doing with these iconic signs - nice to see them up and out of the old bone yard and on display once again!! Symbols of a great era of Las Vegas!!
  3. It's good to see a city having workshops with the council members and business owners of the community. The council members typically have never owned a business so they don't understand the need for adequate signage. Is this is Mesquite Nevada? They actually charge for a permit to put the name and hours on the door of a business?? That is just crazy!! Is the city that desperate for funds?? I wish the different entities here in Las Vegas would get their act together and fix their sign codes. Better yet if some of the inspectors just paid attention to all the illegal signs in the city would be a big improvement!! Back on subject most sign codes and ordinances are written by council members with no input from business owner community nor the sign companies. Would be much better to hold small workshops and come to acceptable ideas from all. I must be in a ranting mood today :)
  4. I live in Las Vegas and not only do we have digital billboards, we have digital video billboards and the owners of the billboards are now cramming as many messages as they can on them. The first time I was traveling on the highway and the billboard changed messages I had to stop and take a double take!! I find them very distracting. Don't we have enough information overload on our roads both within the city and between cities and states?? There are a couple of billboards within the city that when stopped for a red light one begins to sit and look at the messages and not at the traffic light - has left me in an embarrassing situation when people start honking because I have not gone yet . Guess I should have read the news a little further !
  5. I understand that these led billboards have made life much easier for sign companies as they do not have to go up on and change the large faces. But --- I live in Las Vegas and not only do we have digital billboards they are now cramming as many messages as they can on them. Just my thoughts as a consumer and not a company trying to make money!!
  6. I agree with YYZ, the sign company that sold and manufactured the sign should have advised the owner of any codes or guidelines; and yes if the owner said put it up anyway - then it is on him. There are absolutely too many sign companies out there with no ethics what-so-ever - just tearing down the craft/skill/trade pride some of us have in the signs we design and manufacture.
