Usually when I turn the lights out in the evening, my "night lights" come on. Clear argon no merc in the living room, green no merc in the kitchen, dimmed pink in my daughter's bedroom, and of late my carport has been glowing red. About 2 months ago I repaired a set of Verizon Wireless channel letters on a raceway that I had taken down for re-install at a different location. I had them sitting on a set of horses in the carport and turned them on with the intention of leaving them on for a couple days to make sure everything was working ok. They created a nice red glow in my carport, so I decided to leave them on a while longer. To make a short story long, the zoning review board is taking its dear time in releasing the permit for this sign, so it's been sitting on those horses lit up 24/7 for more than a month.

It's been chilly in the evenings the last couple days and my cat (he's an outside cat) has decided that the 10" lower case 'e' is the perfect resting place. The letter face is just a tad warm, and when he sleeps, that's where he sleeps. I'm going to make him a permanent one out of an old 15" solid 'o' I have. I can see this working in Paul's dog house, if he hunts with dogs. Whatta ya think? Should I get a patent for my new cat/dog warmer?

Okay.. that would be an interesting way to warm... animals...

I have a question.. we are thinking of doing a sign for the ambulance office with a heart rythmn in red translucent vinyl with a black foreground, what I am looking for is a LED chaser, so that I could turn two to three LED banks on at a time.. in slow motion... Where do you find LED chaser devices.

Thanks... My cats are always sleeping on my shopbot or on top of my control unit, the moniter really generates some heat, so they enjoy that. Scares me from time to time when I am not paying attention.. and get met face to face with a sleepy feline.

I can't remember exactly how we wired it, but in my youth we lived on a farm and used a 15/30 to energize our electric fence. I think one post went to the fence wire and one post to ground, with the end of the fence wire going to ground. We even used the porcelain GTO cable supports on the fence posts. It worked great at about 1/3 the cost of the commercial electric fence. But I'm serious when I say the cat/dog warmer will be completely safe. I'm not serious about applying for a patent. I'll leave that up to Rube Goldberg. http://www.rube-goldberg.com/

Yeah, Travis, all 126 houses in Petersburg are wired for 480v.

If I remeber right you can do that with neon Stickman. Do the rythm in glass and I think they make a animater that will send a frequency to simulate a single pulse of light in a single direction. Try Tech22. Damn Anyone know the website to Tech 22? I can't seem to find it

Stickman, I'm not real sure what it is you want to accomplish, but Design Specialty, Inc. in Colorado Springs makes custom solid state controllers for just about anything, at very reasonable prices. Contact person is David Holmes. I'll PM his phone # to you if you're interested. (Phone # is on web site below.) I've used them once, but came away from the job with high regard for Mr. Holmes. Very friendly, very knowledgeable.
