Neon 95 Years

I may be prejudiced, since I've been working with the stuff for a lot of years, but if we were to do a word association test with the general public, my guess is that more people would associate neon with signs than any other medium; though, today, vinyls would probably run a close second. So, I'd like to propose a toast to "liquid fire" 95 years to the day after Georges Jean Claude Van Damme displayed his first neon lamp to the public in Paris. Cheers, M. So it was a Frenchy who started it all huh? I think I would associate neon with signs too more than anything else. I always think of neon as that cheap hotel with the blinking light and buzzing sound.

Huh what? jomamma's original post was 12-11-05. It never showed up as a new post for me until last night - 12-13-05. e.g., it was not there (for me at least) until last night when K-girl posted in this thread. I thought she was the one starting it based on what she may have seen on the other board. But when I clicked on it I saw that Joe had started it 2 days ago.
