  1. Its on old Schwann's Ice cream truck, it runs on propane. It was a pretty sweet deal when gas was at $5 a gallon. Sorry but its priced to go........ If you want to send me 8k I will gladly hold it for as long as you like!
  2. What ak-47? I don't have any more guns, I sold them all ! I determined them to the evil and the cause of all the worlds problems! Especially after I started seeing those silent black helicopters circling my business & my home. I need to move to a country that is much more safe and secure

  6. Truck and Crane are headed to the eBay today. If you are at all interested make me an offer. I would just as soon not have to deal with eBay. Please check your local laws and requirements especially if you're in the state of California,Washington,or Florida.

  12. When I was a kid In the early 80s, I lived in Brazil, South America. Kids didn't have a lot of money so they were a lot more creative and inventive. We used to make and fly our own kites, And actually have dog fights with them. We would take fluorescent tubes and crush them into a fine powder,Mix it with some glue In liquid form, Stretch out about 100 feet of kite line,And apply to the line.I remember the white clouds when I was smashing the tubes You are then ready for battle. You would maneuver your kite into position against your opponent, and free spool line across his tight line,And watch his kite Drift away. If you were really good You would entangle Your kite's tale with his, Then cut his lineand real his kite back to you As a battle prize
  13. I had often hoped that somebody would invent a neon transformer that had a temperature switch inside it. That would automatically switch from 30 ma to 60 ma at a certain temperature. What happens to us as we use the 60ma transformer, So it lights up bright in the wintertime, but then the tubes get burnt in the summertime...
  14. Would I be considered old or new? I have been in the industry for over 20 years. I started laying things out with a stabilo and painting with lettering quill. I had one of the first graphics advantage design stations. I now have a large-format digital printer, and am struggling to learn new computer programs like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I was a ul licensed electric sign builder for over 10 years. We did a lot of individually lighted neon channel letters. I was slow to jump on the LED bandwagon. I have always been slow to try the new stuff. My motto always was, "if it isn't broken don't fix it". I also saw many sign company's having to go back out and remove the latest greatest product because it didn't work at their own expense. I always thought I belonged to the new crowd, but after reading back over of us. I guess I sound kind of old.......... I have always been helpful to new people starting up... sometimes to a fault and that my own expense. I believe in karma, however
  15. found the actual article. Wonder how business is?
  16. What has changed in the forum that I now have to login every time? Sometime even between pages
  17. I got ahold of him, thanks. They do not have the parts that I need. I'll have to completely change my rotate gearbox and platform to use what they have. Anybody else know more I can get crane parts for the skyhook? Or know of a broken one that I can buy for parts?
  18. It definitely would come in handy if you can't get your truck to the area. But on your standard fluorescent lamp change service call, I would be done with mine and onto the next one, Before you got your equipment unloaded and reloaded
  19. Have you tried parallel parking your truck and trailer with the towable lift on Main Street to get at a storefront sign that need service or installation? Or maybe going across some rough terrain to get a new pylon installation? The reason I made reference to a parking lot wasn't because it was level. It was because of not having any obstructions. Having used both,I was simply offering my experience as to the question asked.Yes, working off a towable lift is much better than working off of a ladder, but for me, the cost savings of insurance do not offset the constant hassle of trying to get a towable lift, where I needed to be. I'm sure this is the main reason Why you don't see more towble lifts at sign Companies.
