  1. Just received "Rag" I mean mag, the article is excellent!!!!
  2. sounds like you do think LED's are perfect for everything
  3. true marko, but you have to admit there are those that try to "scare" up business by stating how dangerous and archaic neon is and never mention that there are situations where neon is the perfect solution. P.S. I don't know that my statement would qualify as a hyperbole by definition.
  4. oh but remember according to the LED folks it's the neon that is the problem not the hacks!
  5. Sean, picture a 6' x 6' square 7-Eleven logo. It would have at least 6, likely 8 fluorescent lamps in it, meaning anything from 400~600W depending on lamps used. The same sign using Gelcore Power White, Axiom AXLE7 or our PowerStroke, would range from 100~150W, depending on modules and spacing. Brightness would be the same, so saying 60~80% less energy is entirely reasonable. I don't think you can light a double faced 6'x6' sign as bright as daylight lamps with 100-150 watt of LEDs sorry but I'm not buyin' that
  6. Like I said before the UL monster thinks since all these places demand signs HAVE to be listed, they can charge whatever they want and we just have to suck it up! You would be amazed how many city planners and inspectors think UL is a government agency not a for profit business.
  7. It's like the powers that be at UL think everyone HAS to use them and they can do whatever the hell they want! Like I said times they are a changin' and UL's power to strong arm sign shops is going to decrease
  8. That being said... the fact is costs just keep going up and up at UL and I think it is great that there is starting to be some real competition for them!
  9. Where ya been? everything been OK?
  10. Wonder why shops are looking for other listing co's?
  11. We have naked ladies here too ... you just have to know where to look!!!! LOL
  12. Now see I don't think the electronic ones are near as bright especially in cold weather
  13. I agree... is an LED fire different than a neon fire? I think not!
  14. Good luck with that staying out of trouble thing! LOL
  15. Altec's are not fussy at all if you are used to them, but if you get a squirt boom like we have your guys will love it , and you can get in places the big basket straight stick will not even think of going! Oh on more thing how do your guys handle a sign when the truck has to be parked really close to the structure and the sign is lower that your boom length? Bring on the knuckle boom!!!!!!!! LOL
  16. seems like all you hear now is one LED co. suing another over patent issues ... like a bunch of vultures!!!!
  17. We just finished 2 installs for Maurices both neon and they look great. Contrary to popular belief they survived the shipping just fine!
  18. We have and old Radocy 85' round tube it's a workhorse but a newer 110' square tube would be nice but not a necessity. Our bucket trucks are a 41' foot altec and a 83' altec .
  19. Agreed Gary, neon hacks are our (neon's) worst enemy! not LEDs Welcome Clive I liked your introduction sounds a little like me!!! LOL
  20. I agree garett is the guy to do the crazy thing!
